I voted Yzerman. Sorry Gretz.. you are the great one, and your individual and team accomplishments are second to none on the scoreboard. But I feel Yzerman is called the Captain and you are not for the very reason that his leadership skills are second to none. After all those years of him becoming a great leader, I probably wouldn't be voting for him if it weren't for the 2002 cup leadership. That sealed it for me.

Playing on 1 knee, using his stick to get him up off of the ice each time he got knocked down. Willingly being relegated to 3rd sometimes 4th line minutes.

He did everything in his powers to lead that team to the promise land that year!!!

Great example of what makes Stevie Y The Captain!!!

Yzerman was the complete package. He made everyone around him better so that he didn't always have to carry the team. He was also forceful enough that when someone had to stand up and tell the team to pull their head out their ass and play the game, that guy was Yzerman. Here's all I know. Mississippi is not a big hockey place, but there are some good hockey fans. I've had a few buy me a beer just because I had my Yzerman jersey on and they admired Yzerman.
