Lets Go Wings!!!!

I gotta work from 10-5 today so I'll be recording the game...whoever decided retail stores need to be open early on New Years Day should be shot! Here's to hoping I make it the day without finding out the score...

Fantastic stuff - only 4 hours to go and should be a terrific event. Wings need another win to establish once and for all for the benefit of the Chicago Blackhawks and there fans exactly who The Daddy is.

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Makes sense hahahahaha. Drapes is the King of ENG goals!

Wings win 2-1 after nobody scores until midway through the second period.

Good afternoon, gang.

It's going to be a beautiful day for hockey.

you're sentimental. hehe.gif

I will settle for a win of any shape or form, and NO injuries.

I read about the ice being brittle and the glare from the sun being a real problem. Is it cloudy today in Chitown? I hope so, it will make it easier for them to play safe... unless we can arrange to only have the sun glare in the Hawks' eyes, of course. laugh.gif

j/k here's to an exciting and memorable game. Go, Wings!!!

OK, folks, the pregame is getting a bit repetitive. Let's get this party started!

From Chicago -

Patrick Kane skated briefly Wednesday afternoon at Wrigley Field, leaving practice early, but he is expected to play in Thursday's Winter Classic against Detroit.

"Patrick will play," coach Joel Quenneville said.

Kane hurt his right ankle in Tuesday's loss to Detroit on a hit by Dan Cleary. Kane fell to the ice, twisting his leg.

"I'm going to try to play," Kane said. "I'll get some treatment and we'll see how it goes."

Kane said the hit by Cleary was clean even if it looked as if Cleary's elbow came up at the last minute.

"It was a clean hit," Kane said. "My skate just got caught in the ice. It was one of those things where I couldn't get ot of the way."

don't know... we have Al Roker and the Rose Parade. Al has no hair to speak of.

edit: Oh, good, there it is. And it's cloudy out. That's good, too. No glare...
