Glad to see that everyone here is just as excited as I am for the game. Seems like a ton of you work at night...what the heck do you guys do? They should let you have the game on at work...missing this one is just a crime.

I would imagine that a lot of people are like myself: The economy in Michigan is so bad, we ahve to take 2nd or 3rd shift jobs in order to work. It really sucks, but I've caught a break lately and have been able to catch more games than usual.

Should be a fantastic game. The Wings rarely disappoint when the game matters, and usually put on quite a show. Add in that our fourth line is finally doing some things, and maybe the Wings dominate this one.

More likely it'll be a closely-fought game, opening up a 2 goal lead (one of the teams) late in the game.

I wonder if we might see a little rough stuff early in this one wonder if chee choo will be turned loose to try to rile our guys maybe take a cheap shot at Zetterberg which would obviously provoke a response Hopefully Brad Stuart would be on the ice ..... he'd go with him methinks

Anyone else on the roster who might be inclined to drop them tonight?? Have we had a major for fighting in a month or more ??

4-2. Zetterberg plays like its a contract year, for the first time this season.

Here is a crazy explanation: maybe Zets is not playing up to par exactly because it is his contract year and he can sign for less and thus remain a part of the best NHL organization without too much of a hometown discount :-)

Mastodonts were prehistoric elephants ... he probably meant something big and wanted to be innovative

It's not like they force him to take a minimum amount. He could score 120 points and still sign for 7mil or something.

This is a joke, right? Maybe I'm thinking of a different "chee choo", but J. Cheechoo (esq) is a very clean player.

Consider yourself educated.

Who's the local bad boy on the sharks now??designated enforcer etc??

Shelley is their enforcer. Michalek is probably the biggest pest on the team. There's a little Maltby in him.

Michalek is a joke now. He has the size and speed to be a potential power forward, but he tailed off last year and became a highlight after getting destroyed by Brendan Morrow in the playoffs.

Ryane Clowe is much tougher, and as far as "agitators", I'd look to Plihal or one of their minor leaguers they've been calling up in Torrey Mitchell's absence to be more of an agitator than Michalek.

Plihal has been a failure this year. With the exception of Goc, he's probably been their biggest letdown this year. He's a depth player for them at best. To call Michalek a joke is ridiculous and ignorant. Not quite living up to high expectations set for you hardly makes one a joke.

Consider yourself educated.

I disagree. I've seen just how good Michalek can play. I watch almost every Sharks game. He is a joke. Clowe, Pavelski and Setoguchi have lapped him and he won't play on the top line anytime soon.

I agree with Plihal, but he's no Kopecky. Give him a little time.

Your education sucks.

Did you also call Hudler a joke last season?

You can't call someone a joke because better players are playing better. I agree, MM can be awesome at times but inconsistency comes with the package for a 24 year old. Your criticisms are far too premature.

Now let's take a look at your comparisons. Not to take anything away from Setoguchi, his production has been great, but he sits on a line with Marleau and Thornton. Michalek is with Pavelski and Clowe most games. The production for all three on the second line is very similar except for Clowe who is slightly ahead. He has sort of become a bit of a PP specialist for the Sharks though, which explains his increased production compared to his linemates.

So you are grouping 4 good players who have all had very similar seasons. Yet you're calling one a joke and the others are lapping him. It makes no sense to me. Either you do NOT watch the Sharks much or you're a real slow learner.

Education can be difficult with special kids.

I think the Sharks will be more desperate in this one because I think they need it a bit more. I expect that, plus home ice, to be the difference in the game.

Hopefully, I'm wrong and the Wings play their asses off. Should be a good test for Ozzie, regardless.
