Yeah! Fire him! Then fire Bedard because our goalies suck! Then fire Babcock because he's in charge of them and should have fired them after the first game of this five game losing streak! Then fire/impeach Ilitch because he's let this team spiral into oblivion for far too long! 5 games- this is unacceptable! FIRE THEM ALL!

Maybe not, but it's a good wake up call.

I have never heard of a team firing an assistant coach as a wake up call.

Why not MacLean? Or is he the next to be thrown under the bus?

Yeah, haha. MacLean has been with Babcock ever since they both came into the NHL. He was the one in charge of the defense last year. Maybe they should switch or something.

Not calling you a liar, but out of curiosity, how do you know which coach works with what? Do you have a link?

Anybody?

Well, in fairness, I didn't mean right now. But, it is a wake up call to have any coach fired without other circumstances.

Exactly. What else can the Wings do? Keep benching players that don't work hard enough and bring up GR players. Expect to see more names brought up from GR for as long as Stuart is out. This is the kind of face slapping that Babs hasn't been able to do because of the cap jam.

No, I don't think letting a guy like him go even when the team is down like this would do much of anything except put a different guy behind the bench. Something that's going to turn the team around is going to have to come from the players themselves...whatever that's gonna end up being.

I'm not advocating firing McCrimmon, but McCrimmon has a TON of talent to work with that is underperforming like crazy. Bedard, on the other hand, has a back-up and an inconsistent starter past his prime to work with.
