The Grand Rapids Griffins hit the road to take on the Toronto Marlies. The Griffins saw their 9 game point streak come to an end last night as they were thumped 4-1 by Lake Erie. Jimmy Howard got the start last night and didn't recieve too much assistance from the defenceman as costly giveaways and overall poor play was the killer. Daniel Larsson will start tonight as the Griffins hope to kick start another winning streak.

The Griffins continue to struggle to get anywhere near fielding a full srength line-up with Ritola and Ericsson currnely injured and Helm and Leino up with the Wings. Ritola and Ericsson have both sat out the past 3 games and their status for tonight is unknown. Darren Haydar is on a 3 game poing streak (2-3-5) and he registered his 500th career AHL point last night with a goal.

Possible line-up:

Oulahen - Abdelkader - Haydar
Lemieux - Pare - McGrath
Ritola - Tardif - Mursak
Emmerton - Gagnon - Downey

Kindl - Galvin
Kolosov - Stafford
Jozsa - Pyett

Larsson
Howard

Team Leaders:

Goals: Haydar (18) Ritola, Pare (15)
Assists: Leino, Haydar (26)
Points: Haydar (44) Leino (37)
Penalty Minutes: Downey (79), Abdelkader (61)
Plus/Minus: Pare (15), McGrath (13)

Notes:

• The points have dried up for Jakub Kindl as he has only managed 1 assist from the past 7 games.
• Cory Emmerton has registered 3 poins from the past 2 games.

Downey got a 5 min charging major. Sweet.

Well there's some good news. :P

What the heck happened out there? I know you're without Helm, Leino, Kolosov, Ritola and Ericcson but 10 goals? Howard and Larsson give up 5 each, Larsson's stats ruined again after 1 awful period. 10 GOALS? I'm struggling to get my head around that.

I guess there goes our leagues best penalty killing unit, with 5 goals against.

Justin Abdelkader G+A and +1, that's a positive. Kindl only -1 which is pretty good too. :P
