May the Wings win, and the Sharks lose. And honestly, if this Leino kid can keep it up, I say keep Hossa, Hudler & Sammy, and say goodbye to Franzen.

But don't forget that sharks got like 3-4games in hand, so wings being so close to sharks atm is due to the schedule.

Agreed. But I think psychologically, it would be cool to be in first in the conference.

I agree but the Sharks are still on the road trip so the Wings at least have to ahead if we consider we have 3 more games, which mean 6 points possible as maximum.

I went to buy some camouflage pants the other day but I couldn't find any.

Going to the game tonight, w00t! I'm calling it 4-1 for the Wings. Steve Mason is apparently over his mono sickness and will play if ready.

Isn't this Datsyuk's 500th game?

Yes it is. And he's only 7 points away from 500 for his career. Not half bad.

I'll go with you all on the hattie for Pasha...he's due. I'd love to see it happen. I'll not predict a score, but 7 in a row sounds awfully nice.

Go Wings!

Has he got a regular season hat trick? I feel like he must, but I can only remember one in the playoffs.

He's only got the one playoff hattie against Dallas. He's come close quite a few times, but never hit it. Let's hope he finally does - this would be a great night for it.

f*** Mason. He should be out tonight, to make up for the way he scammed out of punishment for not going to the Young Stars game. Stupid double-standard.

Looks like I might be seeing some of you at the game - I'll be in the upper bowl with my brother, behind the goal. This'll be my first time in Nationwide Arena, should be a blast! GO WINGS!

Sooo... Pav needs seven points tonight for 500 points in 500 games... 3 goals, 4 assists? 4 goals 3 assists? 7 goals?

8-2 Wings! Woot! wink.gif
Hudler!!

"If you didn't know him, and saw him without hockey gear, you'd never suspect Datsyuk to be a world-class athlete. He walks a bit hunched over. His gait is somewhat crab-like, almost like he's still skating, even on dry land.

But put him on skates and he's Houdini on ice. He is not the fastest skater by a long shot, but there can't be too many who are stronger or more flexible. Checking him has to feel like checking Gumby. You might get a piece of him, but he bounces away, moving faster thanks to the leverage he gained from your check."

Wow. I never thought Babcock would put him in 2 nights straight. I guess that's why Babcock coaches the Wings and I'm a player/coach on a last place beer league team in Grand Rapids.

uh oh... back to back for Ozzie. All eyes will be watching.

With regards to Osgood I think fans and detractors alike can *mostly* agree on the following:

1. He has played subpar so far this year. I say this even given the considerable blame which should go to the defense in front of him. The numbers basically don't lie.
2. It seems highly unlikely the Ozzie we've seen so far this season will be good enough for a cup repeat.

The open question is: How much better does our defense have to play to offset the goaltending gap in order to have a chance at the cup?

My hypothesis is: If Osgood continues to play at the same level he has all season, then a cup repeat is highly unlikely regardless of what the defense does in front of him.

So given that, I am scrutinizing Osgood closely in every game looking for signs of a turn-around. I have not noticed, yet, a significant change in his positioning and rebound control, which have both been off all season.

Last night's win did nothing one way or other to convince me the turn-around is underway. Let's hope tonight starts the metamorphosis.
Are you kidding? Block you? And miss watching you stumble around the forum looking for an argument like a dog sniffing butts? It would be like turning off a bad episode of Jerry Springer. You know you shouldn't be watching, but you just... can't... help... it...

A 28 game slump shouldn't condemn a career.

They are giving him starts because getting 2008 form Osgood back would give us the best chance at a repeat. smile.gif So here's to him doing well.
