Wingaling 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 I read this horrible line on a post the other day that said Hossa will not be back because he wants to play with Gaborik. Any major truth to this? I know people say enjoy him for the season but F that I like people to play here who want to play here, like Hank, Dats and Lids, not someone to jump on board try to win a cup and bail; I love him but I hope he signs...or I'll will more than likely end up at the Joe with Anti-Hossa signs next year like in Pittsburgh. Casey 145 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 I'd doubt fairly strongly if Gaborik even comes back next season- he's missed most of this season with injuries.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 That was speculation regarding Gaborik since they're good friends. All recent reports point towards Hossa's re-signing with Detroit. Now, why would you head to the Joe with anti-Hossa signs if he decided to move on after this year (Cup or not)? The guy took a massive gamble signing a one-year deal when he could've had job security for life. He owes the Red Wings nothing other than playing his best this season. He deserves no flack if he decides to move on next year.

Hanks signed for well less then hes worth, and Dats said in recent interview money and who makes more or less is erelevant because money isnt everything, it does not matter, what matters is putting on your red wings jersey night in and night out. Those are Red Wings my friend and if number 81 chooses to chase the cup the Cujo way then F him and Im bringing my sign! see ya next year

You sound like you would make a good penguins fan. The reality is the dude doesn't owe us anything. Be grateful for having him this season. I'm sure you would turn down more money from one of your companies competitors right?? I know money isn't everything, but comon. Be real. Man we have high expectations. Gonz 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 How could Hossa play with Gaborik when Gaborik doesn't even play? The guy is as brittle as a piece of toffee.

How convenient for you. He owes us nothing more than the season he signed up for. If he chooses to move on and gets booed by Red Wings fans than I find that to be pathetic. Man we have high expectations. Once again I disagree, and yes we do have high expectations; we're the detroit red wings! So if we lose this year then what? Fu detroit im going to ummmmm, Boston or San Jose ???what kind of player would he be if he did this, thats all Im sayin, you cant keep hopping from team to team looking for a cup it gets tired....but mostly I just want Hossa to sign again because he's awesome and then we wont hear "I told you so" from Pens fans who insist he'll "screw" us too. By the way I often turn down money from competitors on a monthly basis! Its called Loyalty for which I am a big believer

If he chooses to move on and gets booed by Red Wings fans than I find that to be pathetic. I hear ya, and no its not my money, well not all of it any way. I do however buy many jerseys, hats, posters and tickets to support our fantastic crew we call the wings. I just feel that in order to be champions again this year or even next, one of our best players has to really want to be a part of it. Thats the one thing all other organizations say about the wings is the players loyality to the team, thus is the force I hope that ends up in the signing of Franzen and Hossa, the loyality is the one and only thing thing that will get that done. But we wont see that until they sign...If your cool cheering for a dude jumping from team to team trying to win good for you, but I cant support it.

Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Why?!?!?! He took LESS to play for Red Wings - even if it's for one season... Who can blame him if he decide to sing for MORE money with another team??? Zetterberg situation was different - he was drafted by Detroit... I absolutely don't support players that jump from team to team in hopes of landing on the eventual winner, but despite the popular opinion around here there is more to life than the Red Wings. We all have our allegiances to this team, mine is greater than any other sports team in the world, but to criticize a guy who took a financial risk in the first place to be on this team is petty and childish. After this season, win or lose I wish Hossa all the best, thank him for signing with us initially as well as his incredible play donning the Winged Wheel, and just hope he's seen enough from this organization to convince him to stay for good. However, if he does decide to move on, he still very much deserves our respect. He certainly doesn't deserve an immature poster calling him out every time he visits the Joe. Sorry to asume you were for a jumping from team to team, that is more or less what I am against here...Anyway I did just read an interview that said he would take less, so he is NOT one of those players at all, and appears to be the player I hoped he was, and in possession of the mindset that will bring the cup back to the D. datsyuk1340 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 we should let go hossa and sign hudler, sammuelsson ,conklin and leino because idk about howard hes not that good what about larsson coming up but we should do that because we won the cup last year without hossa and i know hossa was a great addition but we should do this
