NHL Frozen Moments

Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings celebrates his 500th career NHL point with teamates Brian Rafalski and Henrik Zetterberg after a 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on February 25, 2009 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Wow I never knew he was so skinny ohmy.gif

Congratulations Pavel smile.gif Here's to a 1000 points beerchug.gif

But my most coveted thing is a high self-esteem
And a low tolerance for them telling me how to lean
See the most important parts are the ones that are unseen
The Wings don't make you fly and the Crown don't make you king
Now God don't like ugly, ain't too happy bout pretty
I am ignorance's enemy so stay out of the vicinity of...

Congrats to Pav!

What a great picture! biggrin.gif

"If you didn't know him, and saw him without hockey gear, you'd never suspect Datsyuk to be a world-class athlete. He walks a bit hunched over. His gait is somewhat crab-like, almost like he's still skating, even on dry land.

But put him on skates and he's Houdini on ice. He is not the fastest skater by a long shot, but there can't be too many who are stronger or more flexible. Checking him has to feel like checking Gumby. You might get a piece of him, but he bounces away, moving faster thanks to the leverage he gained from your check."

Вітання! Гарна робота Павел!

He looked like the was at least twice his size out on the ice against SJ giving out hits. Hopefully he reaches 1000.

I am so proud of him for this accomplishment. Not bad for only seven seasons in the League. And now the next milestone - joining the top ten all time Red Wings scoring leaders. He's only 47 points away from that. He'll knock John Ogrodnick out of the number ten position with another 47 points.

Here's to you, Pasha! You deserve every kind word said to and about you. beerchug.gif

Q: When do you think you'll get 1000 points?

Datsyuk: Maybe this season

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Congrats Pavel, here's to the next 500 goal.gif
"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Datsyuk said he'll also reach 1000 points this year. tongue.gif

Datsyuk received the puck for his 500th point and posed for a picture in the dressing room with Zetterberg (who scored the goal) and Brian Rafalski (who had the other assist).

Asked when he'll reach 1,000, Datsyuk said, "Maybe this year."

He's not that skinny, pretty good size on 5'11, 200lbs same size as crosby for example.

He looks gaunt, like a mummy. And Brian over there looks like a well-meaning but ultimately lame dad. Hank is one hip cat, though.

Congratulations to our MVPasha!! He's quietly the best and classiest guy on the ice, night after night, and I couldn't love him any more, as a fan. There's just nothing not to like.

I do loved the picture, too. Did you notice they are making "5" "0" "0" with Pasha and the puck the middle zero? laugh.gif

Jeez, I love this team. wub.gif

500 in 505, can argue with that production, almost a point in every game he's ever played. who is the quickest for the wings? yzerman?

Pretty damn good for a guy people talked a lot of crap about for his lack of post season production his first few years. Datsyuk is indeed the man

Svetlana is Pasha's wife. Pasha is, of course, Pavel. It's a common nick-name in Russia- kind of like Mike for Michael or Bert for Egbert here in the States. Not that I know many Egberts.

Edit: Silly me, I forgot to congratulate Pasha!
Way to go Pavel! May you reach 2000 someday- and all in a Red Wing uniform.
(2000 is pushing it for mere mortals, but this is Pasha we're talking about biggrin.gif )
