shoe 165 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 The other night when ATDHE wasnt showing any hockey games I started thinking about trying the NHL stream it was $30 a month. I dont think I would pay $30 a month for a full season but I started thinking how to make that cheaper. The $30 a month covers all teams but i just want to watch wings games so I started to think they should do something like pay per game viewing that would be nice, then I wouldnt get pissed off when games were blacked out either. So I thought wouldnt an apple / NHL partnership be interesting. Apple right now sells movies TV shows and songs on itunes so why not a sporting event? Id pay a couple of bucks for games Id really like to see if it was done right. Oh and if anyone wants to try and say they dont have a mac... itunes works on windows machines as well but this isnt ment as an apple sales picth yahoo google who ever could do it as long as its done right. spyder 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 I wouldn't pay anything for a crappy little youtube quality stream. Now if it was in 720p at 30fps using X264 and a decent bitrate I'd pay for it. However the bandwith required would be logistically impossible.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 I would pay for a few games a season if the quality was ok. Don't really have the time to stay up late for every game anymore like the last few seasons. All I want is some of the bigger games + early week-end games and the playoffs so getting a season package is too expensive and unnecessary. So in short, yes I would probably pay for it. For the most part, I don't want to pay 30$ a month either, because I don't have any reason to say I'll be there to watch every game. If it were pay-per-game, even at 3$ a game, I'd probably go for it due to the "lower" price. The ideal pricing (aside from free) would be about $1.50/game. Think that would make around 15-20$ a month to watch games.
