Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Grand Rapids Griffins (40-18-6-6) @ Lake Erie Monsters (31-31-3-5) @ Griffins look to win their 3rd game in as many nights when they take to the road to face the Lake Erie Monsters. The Griffins are without the injured pair of Mattias Ritola and Sergie Kolosov so this will be a big test for a team that will begin a massive road trip starting tonight. I believe this game will be on the NHL Network, so check your guides or whatever it is that you do to see if you are able to watch this one. I want lots of reports on the game! Coyote0106 2 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 The Griffins played well the first two games this weekend. Mursak looked really good Friday night, and the goalies were amazing. Saturday was Haydar and Leino's night. They were doing all sorts of good stuff with the puck. The Marlies played well, but just got put on the losing end of it. It was a great 2 games. The Marlies really needed more than 1 point from those games, too. Syracuse is HOT right now, and are now only 2 points back, with a game in hand. It's quite the race for the 4th and final spot in our division. Yep, game is on NHL network for me anyways. I'll be flipping between the Sparty's and the Griffs. sjradio 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Guess, I'll only be watching the Griffins, because... A. I hate the Sparty's B. U of M was eliminated. C. My brackets are so screwed up already that my 5 (points... wink wink) for my pool are long since gone. D. Won't worry about watching the NCAA tournament at Van Andel, because 1. I hate Notre Dame 2. The Finals are Sunday at 8PM, which mean that I wouldn't be able to go to the final game 3. With ND facing Bemidji and Northeastern vs. Cornell, nobody else is going to be there but ND fans. So why bother E. It's the only thing on besides Basketball and fishing
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Scoreless after 1. Shots 13-6 in favour of Grand Rapids. Abdelkader with 4 SOG already.

sjradio 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Cleveland ties it. Should have been goaltender interference. Bumped into Jimmy before the goal
sjradio 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 1-1 after 2 Griffins waste a 35 second 5-3 and will still have 18 seconds of a power play to start the third, but so far 0-5 on the power play. Not good..

I guess that's the risk, buy the tickets and pray a good team actually makes it in.

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 23, 2009 What a fantastic three game stretch for the Griffins claiming the maximum 6 points. Anyone care to offer some insight from the game?
GROwl 5 Report post Posted March 23, 2009 He's out with a knee injury. Bob Kaser said that Aaron Downey didn't travel with the team to Cleveland. Nor will he be in W-B-S on Wednesday. If all goes well, he may fly out and join the team next weekend. Kolosov's been upgraded to day-to-day, Jamie Tardiff about 3 weeks out yet and Ritola 4-5 weeks. I talked to Downey a week ago today at a bar, and he made it sound like it wasn't a real nice injury. He was hurting just walking to the bathroom.
