Opie 308 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 A bonus so he could buy himself out of a contract, is that the first time a player bought himself out of a contract in any sport? I know in soccer teams do it all the time, but I have never heard of a player doing it.
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 'Sour' Burke vows changes. A slow, summer long Burke-burn sounds like a great idea.
BigTex 1 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 You know how players will take less money to play for the Wings. I think we'll be looking at exactly the opposite in Toronto with that blowhard running the show. Who wants to work for a jerk like that?
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 2, 2009 Wow, a fourth round pick, eh? They're really trying to send a message. But this actually isn't Burke's fault, so I dunno what the OP means by "fine example from Burke". The same article he cited clearly said Burke was still the GM for the Ducks at the time of this signing.
