McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Those are strong words from a team that has sucked against the Wings this year. Funny thing is, after he threw it off, he skated away very fast... almost like he was scared or something...
Mors 201 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Blackhawks lost to the Wings' how many times this season? OH that's right...sorry about that Winter Classic thingy too See you on Saturday scrubs.
EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I LOL in your general direction! It's ON like Donkey Kong!
HOCKEY MATTERS 167 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Go ahead. It's just a myth. Nothing bad will happen. That's just silly to think there is anything to it. Go ahead. Touch that octopus. Superstitions are for little girls. What are you, a man, or a chicken? I don't think any opposing player will ever touch an octopus on the ice again.
Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 They make the playoffs for the first time since 2002 and now they think they're something special
elriqo28 2 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 They make the playoffs for the first time since 2002 and now they think they're something special Sounds like the White Sox to me. Although at least they have a world series title recently!
vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I think it's awesome. Chicago has really climbed out of the cesspool Dollar Bill trapped them in. Who wouldn't be geeked? As for the octopus, they'll learn. The hard way.

Blueliner 69 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 They make the playoffs for the first time since 2002 and now they think they're something special It's the same way with Jacket fans right now.
Chairman Maouth 97 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 It's the same way with Jacket fans right now. The NHL is better off for having strong Columbus and Chicago teams. Both cities are good hockey markets and their fans deserve some success.
JayUp88 1 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Oh come on, that was pretty funny. i know its anti-wings but hey its still funny.
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Funny thing is, they didn't have him technically "touch" the octopus; he used his stick. They no better than to have him pick it up and toss it. Already being inside your opponents head is a fantastic advantage.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Maybe with the Quenneville curse plus the octopus curse, they're hoping two wrongs will make a right so they can win a game vs the Wings XD
hillbillywingsfan 792 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 i thought it was a very cool commerical...i liked it. i wish we had more stuff like this in the league...we have to make this sport more exciting folks if we want to grow.
DatsMyWings13 4 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I really hope we get to see them in the playoffs
Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 As a Wings fan I thought that was pretty awesome. The Hawks have pretty much jinxed themselves, but it is still a great idea for a commercial.
TheBigRedMachine 2 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Thumbs up to the Blackhawks organization for releasing a whole slew of semi-humourous commercials this season. This kind of stuff can really get fans pumped up for the playoffs. But, unfortunately for the 'Hawks...... :octo: THE OCTOPUS WILL REIGN SUPREME! (again) :octo:
Shaman 713 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 If the wings don't make it to the SCF I would prefer Chicago or Columbus to win it, because I NEVER want to see another cup in California....
egroen 384 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I love the ads the Blackhawks have run this season, and I hate their fans. I would not mind at all a re-kindled rivalry with Chicago, and I love beating the crap out of that team. Go Wings!

We can tell that we're in their heads because they're the ones with the commercial idea.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 The NHL is better off for having strong Columbus and Chicago teams. Both cities are good hockey markets and their fans deserve some success. Exactly. I wish them all the success in the world, until they run into the Detroit buzzsaw. I think right now Columbus is the better team out of the two, though, but I look forward to re-igniting the Detroit-Chicago rivalry this year.
