uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 Hopefully, you are only referring to Ryno? Samuelsson and Franzen as well.
GROwl 5 Report post Posted April 10, 2009 Samuelsson and Franzen as well. Huh? 1.) Samuelsson doesn't have any size to work with. 2.) Doesn't Franzen have the 2nd highest number of goals for the Wings and 4th highest points? This on a team laden with talent! Most of Franzen's goals aren't exactly finesse (like Datsyuk's) - they are gained from using his big body to crash the net for the rebounds. He also gets beat up by the goalie and defense for playing "Holmstrom" when Homer is out. I don't know how you can say he doesn't use his size.

He just means that they don't run around like morons trying to hit and fight everyone they see. Franzen is a goal scorer and goes to the net better then even Zetterberg, and he does that with his size. I will take a dozen Franzen types over one big guy that does nothing but fight or try to lay on the big hit.
Erack82 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2009 Looks like the kid picked up an assist in his first AHL game. Does anyone have a word on how he played in his debut?

He's not a lanky guy at all.. Im content with Sammy, He chirps and agitates.. atleast he contribues in some form. Franzen is a cream puff though.. With that size, you should be able to throw a meaningful hit everyonce in awhile.. But to fans and teams everywhere he is known as one of the softest players on the wings.. Franzen will continue to get picked on every game because ever team knows he'll do nothing about it.. It's a bigger morale booster by making a 6'3'' 230lb player skate away then it is having a Hudler,Val skate away.
Zetterberg2008ConnSmythe 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2009 If he puts the puck in the net...who gives a f*** if he can hit.
sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 If he puts the puck in the net...who gives a f*** if he can hit. I sure as hell do. As stated earlier in the thread he is a cream puff - a cream puff that loves to face wash, and shove after the whistle, which then leads to him getting flattened by people like Vandameer. Now that he's signed for 11 years he has to make up his mind - either stop with the patty cake after the whistle - making himself a bigger target then he already is, or learn how to back it up. He won't be "putting the puck in the net" if he is hurt, which he already has a knack for being.
