Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 11, 2009 The atmosphere was incredible last night for the pivotal game against Hamilton. It was good to see another sellout this year. That being said, I am a little disappointed with the Griffins effort in that game last night. The only reason why it was a close game was because of Jimmy Howard. The Bulldogs put almost 40 shots on net last night and it wasn't until they got the lead that they went back into their defensive shell. I don't know if the Griffins played below average or Hamilton just wanted home ice more than the Griffins. Either way, now Hamilton has home ice and I don't see the Griffins getting out of this series in the playoffs. Especially if they come to the rink with an effort like they had last night. I guess we will see what the future holds.

GROwl 5 Report post Posted April 11, 2009 I was a little frustrated with the Downey extra 5 minute penalty. That's a long time to have to PK. It could have been a disaster. In the playoffs Downey has to be smarter about how and when to be physical. DMAC was better...even though he got 5 for fighting, he also took out Alex Henry for 5 minutes who was a greater threat. I was also a little disappointed with Charleston. I had heard some good things about the kid, but I didn't think he had any presence on the ice last night. On the plus side, I thought Sergei Kolosov played a great game as did Stafford.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted April 12, 2009 Kindl scored, right? First goal in a long, long time. Good for his confidence. But he didn't play tonight, why was that? Hopefully not injured... And good to see Andersson with an assist on debut.

The reason Henry didn't get a fighting major is because he didn't fight, he just got beat. "
