CanadaBoy 151 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 "Let's face it. you can go from the highest high after you fight for a couple of months to become champion to a letdown. I've seen it time and again. I know (coach) Mike Babcock doesn't believe me, but I've seen teams come back with a lack of emotion. You might not be able to detect it with the naked eye, but it's there." -- Ken Holland, Detroit Red Wings GM http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=418780
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) I'd certainly say there's a little bit less of emotion and drive, and that may have to do with the defensive lapses, but we won't really know until the end of the entire season, either by a cup, or elimination, to say for sure. After a single playoff game, they look inspired. We'll see if they can keep it up. Edited April 17, 2009 by Shoreline
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 This was before the 1st game against Columbus. I'm sure he was happy with the intensity and emotion he saw from the team.
EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 I love how the author of the article refers to Holland has having a twinkle in his eye a couple of times. Makes him sound like some kind of mischevious, all-knowing elf or something.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Holland is probably right, but those looked like the "old" Red Wings last night.
