thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 I salute your dedication, but I would hardly call throwing the Octopi one of the greatest traditions in hockey. Really? That s*** goes back to the 50's.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 I salute your dedication, but I would hardly call throwing the Octopi one of the greatest traditions in hockey. Not only is it one of the greatest in hockey, it's probably the best playoff tradition in all of professional sports. It's fan-created and fan-driven and immediately identifies the Wings. What on earth could be better?
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 Has there ever been a series where they successfully kept the octopi out of the building? No. They can talk all they want about it but frankly, when it comes down to it, arena security is in the hands of Frankie the underpaid rent-a-cop. He's no match for a determined Wings fan. Jocke 53 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 I feel bad for the Nationwide employees, im sure octopi stink alot, but so will the Detroit fans. It's going to be hard to figure out if the detroit fan has one in their bag or if they just smell that bad... jk, it will be hillarious to see octopi thrown on the ice, it's a great tradition
