BJ's think shakeup, matchup can make the difference.

The Blue Jackets think the combination of moving Antoine Vermette to center their first line, and matching against anybody but Nick Lidstrom might set Wings killer Rick Nash loose.

They are claiming that this matchup, plus getting some second chance shots on Osgood, will be their keys to victory in their first playoff game at home.

In two games, the BJ's have only had two scoring chances from rebounds, and Ozzie has stopped both of them.

They are also VERY determined to keep all seafood off ice for their grand opening playoff evening.

I admire their fortitude. They know they are out matched, and made a mistake in using the regular season red wings as an indicator, but still believe they can come back. No negativity. Hell, Hitchcock sounds more defeated that his players do. I do find it mindly amusing that the BJ's think they can play a head game with Detriot. If they go into game 3 with that mentality, I'm sure the Wings will show them how ineffective mind games are to them. This holds more so to Ozzie than most. Once he's on his game and in the zone? Look out!

I agree completely and I was thinking about this while reading alot of posts after game 2. Without being a naysayer I wouldnt be the least bit suprised to see columbus take this game, remember last year against nashville when we were up 2-0 and went back to their house all overconfident. I expect to see a Different bunch of bjs tonight. (of course I hope I'm wrong)

hitchcock can change the lineup all he wants, changing match-ups and what not, but fact of the matter is his team still doesn't add up to the wings. they've been completely dominated, what with the wings 3rd and 4th lines playing regular shifts on the PP in the 3rd period in game 2...and hitchcock has made in game shake ups with the lines and it still didn't work. the wings play their game and take 2 straight in columbus. wings in 4

Eh, BJs gotta try something different. I can respect not lying down and dying. As was said before I wouldn't be shocked either if the BJs win tonight but I think Detroit knows better than to try to come into Oohi and coast to a victory.

Keep up the attack and let's get this series down ASAP.

We obviously can't get the matchups we want before the faceoff because of last change but we just need to make sure that we win faceoff, get pucks in deep and get the change we need to get the right guys on the ice right away.

The emotion of coming back to the home arena for the first home playoff game in franchise history makes this pretty dangerous. But Vermette on the first line, getting most of the ice time? Sweet. That guy's been a penalty machine, he's committed two penalties in each game so far.

Never put much stock in what's said between games. As for Vermette? Big deal! The Wings will simply not let these guys back in the series. Tonights game has me feeling real good. If anything, I'm looking at Game 4 as the bigger threat.

Tonight? Home crowd. First home playoff game .... no matter. Gods team's just too focused right now. Keep their focus, and determination and this series is indeed gonna be a short one.

Go Wings!!
