Osgood should NOT start the third, he can't start the 3rd just look at how he played in that period, he's obviously injured and not himself.

In honor of Jaromir Jagr's old ways, Ozzie will smear some JIF on that groin come out and shut them down next period. Wings win 8-6

I would say groin or back by how he is moving

I'd say groin or possibly his left hip-flexor.

He's hurt.  No doubt about it.  Now what do we do?  Does Babs risk further injury or put in a cold goalie in a 5-5 game that can swing momentum to the Jackets?

Keeping Ozzie in would be giving this game to the Jackets. He can hardly move out there. It looks like his groin to me.

I'd take my chances on Conklin to close this one out, whether we have to go back to Detroit or not, and let Ozzie start round 2.

If he's hurt, then blame Babcock, because with Conklin in net you'd have to think we'd have a better chance to have this game won already with 5 goals. With an injured Osgood, it's tied 5-5, and Conklin will likely have to play anyway. Also, Ozzie may have aggravated his injury by playing.

Either way, blame Babcock.
According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

you cant blame babs. If Ozzie was so badly hurt that he felt he couldnt stand anymore who would have pulled himself. Babs trust his players decisions.

Fine. But he's to blame if they lose this game. Can't always take your players' word.

If Ozzie didn't practice then I'm really surprised Conklin didn't start.

He should be out in the 3rd for sure, Ozzie need to sit. It's not worth it for him to risk hurting himself worse and then being out for a longer stretch of time. If we get the sweep now he'll have plenty of time to recover from whatever he pulled/injured/whatever.

If he was hurting I have no idea why he even started tonight. We've got this series under control. Conks can handle a start the way the rest of this team is playing. Get the win and give Osgood a week to rest up. Unbelievable that he finished that second even. Even if they weren't scoring those goals, he was obviously in pain and struggling to move and get up. Why on earth risk making it worse when he's played as well as he has?!?!

If you have a lower body injury, it could easily get worse at some point in the game. It could also just as easily not get hurt, and you finish of the game no worse than before.

My guess is something happened during the game that made the injury worse.

I blame John Keating for talking like the Wings had the game wrapped up with a 3-1 lead in the 1st period. Idiot.

They're idiots, that's what. He did that earlier in the game too. I think he thinks Maltby is Draper or something.

Ozzie would play in a full body cast if he thought he could help the team in even a miniscule way. That's just the person he is.

They have been saying stupid shat all game and last game
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, I'm going to mop the floor with your face.
I said, You'll be sorry.
He said, Oh, yeah? Why?
I said, Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well.

Keating mentioned the shutout in Game #3. Look what happened. He needs to go away.

holy s*** what is going on!! 5-5!! i agreed, ozzy needs to sit, rest up. we need him top notch the rest of the play-offs but this better be a 100% because of injury, not due to bad play. we dont need ozzy second guessing his play now.

in ozzys defense, detroit has been slacking on picking up the open man or winning the puck battles off the boards.
lets go wings step it up!!
