Dekadeer was hitting anything and everything.. Tardif had a solid game.. Kolosov was the reason the 2nd goal went in. But in the end Howard let 2 soft goals go in. Not really, i dont know what happened, i kind of missed it, But all of a sudden i see a Tibo player, Fall on the ice clinching his arm or something.. Then someones goes after him near the Griffs bench.. Downey gloves fly off.. and the guy skates away.. Then on the way to the Penalty Box, Keane has some words with him, and Downey charges him. Overall Downs had a stout game.. A player ran Leino while he was on the ice.. and Downs takes a run at him after the whistle.. no penalty, but he made it known your not gonna mess with out skilled guys. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Why the heck wouldn't Lashoff play? Surely he was injured and not a healthy scratch, he's been great. Kindl put up 5 shots, very good effort by Jakub. Good to see he wasn't a minus either, and would've been a plus if not for the empty net goal. I feel for the Griffins, had a great season but things haven't gone their way of late. Losing Oulahen was a massive blow, and McGrath hasn't been on the ice for a while now which really hurt the secondary scoring meaning we've essentially become a one line team. Ritola is playing but way off 100% and losing Ericsson and Helm were huge blows. They've played alright against Manitoba, lost 2-1, 2-1 and 3-1 but with an empty net. All games have been close, just needed a bit of luck. I've virtually given up but while there's life there's hope... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I got the impression that his line had a huge 1st series, but I guess it's not the case against Manitoba. On the bright side, Big Rig and Helm are playing very well for Detroit at the moment, so see that as a silver lining - while it hurts to lose some of your best players, be happy that they're helping the big team. He gets the penalty, then sees Fitzgerald coming off the bench, so he spears him in the stomach/balls. A Moose player that also jumped over the boards skates over like he is going to knock Downey out. Downey throws his gloves and grabs the dude. The guys skates away and Downey gets escorted to the box. Keane is over there talking to the ref about what just happened, and Downey skates over to him to talk more s***. He then lets the ref have it, too. Total BS, we got LUCKY he only got the minor to hurt the team. This team is playing a completely different style than they did against Hamilton. They are trying to play a defensive game, when they can't do it. We don't have defense, we haven't all year. We need to get the moose into a run and gun type of game. Let us show our speed.
