A group seeking to buy the Phoenix Coyotes has not complied with terms that Glendale officials believe are required to pursue the purchase, city leaders confirm.
But Ice Edge Holdings and the National Hockey League say the deal is moving forward.

While Ice Edge Holdings is still talking with the City of Glendale about the long-term lease of Jobing.com Arena, a source close to the negotiations confirmed to Sportsnet's John Shannon that the City is also talking with three other groups about the arena and team.
...
On a related topic, another source close to the team said that only 1,800 season tickets have been sold for the 2010-11 season.
...
It should also be noted that the City has agreed to pay the team's losses for the upcoming season, with a cap of $25 million, until a new owner is found.

And while the city will be chipping in, I'd also like to know just how much the Yotes will receive in revenue sharing. That's probably a pretty big chunk of change.

Is anyone aware of what their normal STH sales are?

IIRC I think they would have to hit a certain number of season tickets to qualify for any kind of revenue sharing in the CBA. Losses are right now being swallowed by the NHL and Glendale.
Were this a franchise in any other business, they would have either moved or closed up shop years ago. I would love to see a complete list of statements over the last two years from Blinky Bettman about how there are several ownership groups poised to buy the team, and that they just need a little more time.

When the Arizona Republic ran the story about Season Tickets sales beginning for the upcoming season, one of the "comments" made beneath the story threw out the number six-thousand. Maybe it's like a poorly run telethon and that is the minimum number the League has told them they have to have; the carrot being dangled in front of the horse's nose, as it were.Is anyone aware of what their normal STH sales are?

The new president of the Phoenix Coyotes says he has recently met multiple parties interested in buying the team, besides Ice Edge Holdings, which has been in negotiations with Glendale and the NHL for months to buy the team, and apart from on-and-off suitor Jerry Reinsdorf, owner of the Chicago Bulls and White Sox.
"There are others out there that are viable," Mike Nealy, who took over one month ago, said. But such groups "like to stay quieter."

Fans can choose the same seats for games of their choice, will be able to buy additional tickets at a discounted rate, and have priority on playoff tickets.
Cost of the 20-pack begins at $19 per game, and the shorter plan starts at $23 per game.

The Phoenix Coyotes have another interested buyer, sources told ESPN.com.
Matthew Hulsizer, CEO of PEAK6 Investments, is in the final stages of negotiating a new arena lease agreement with the city of Glendale, after which Hulsizer is expected to make an offer to purchase the Coyotes from the NHL, multiple sources have confirmed to ESPN.com.
The emergence of the Chicago-based financier and former collegiate hockey player comes at a time when negotiations between Ice Edge Holdings, a group of Canadian and American investors who have been pursuing the team for more than a year, and Glendale officials have stalled.

For now, Glendale appears off the hook for the $25 million it pledged last May as an insurance policy to keep the Phoenix Coyotes in the city at Jobing.com Arena.
The city announced Friday that a potential buyer has agreed to fund the $25 million that the National Hockey League demanded from Glendale in order to cover the team's operating losses this season.

Wow - talk about dodging the bullet. From Arizona Republic :
In all honesty it would've been humorous had the city been on the hook for the $25 million.

The Coyotes are understandably mum about their numbers. But a report from the heavily-biased Canadian media said the team has sold only 4,000 season tickets, and just a quarter of its luxury suites. Sadly, it sounds perfectly plausible. In a lagging economy, why would anyone invest anything in a team that might not be here next year?
It's also clear that the NHL will not lose another penny on the Coyotes, and that Bettman's tone has changed dramatically. During a recent stop in Ottawa, where Bettman awarded the 2012 All-Star Game, the exasperated commissioner said some ominous things, such as:
"We've been at this now for a year and a half."
"At some point, it may be in Phoenix that we won't be successful . . . "
"We hope it should get done (in Phoenix). I believe Phoenix can support an NHL team, but there are a lot of moving pieces we're dealing with."
...
Not his usual upbeat self on this topic; good.

Would be sweet to get Winnipeg Jets back, and maybe Selänne playing one last time with old number 13# as a member of the Jets.
I was at a hockey tournament in London at the weekend and met a few die-hard Jets fans who I mentioned really deserved to have a team again.
Hockey doesn't belong in Glendale, glad to see the penny is finally dropping with Bettman too.

I thoguth I had heard something about a December deadline. If not sold by then, they will be moved??
From what I've heard if a purchase isn't made by Dec. 31 the team is gone.
