What better way to reel them in: One-six-six-zero-four.

Seattle would be an interesting market given that there is no NBA franchise. Not that the two are related, but it would be the main attraction after the Seahwaks are done.

The Sacramento Kings are in dire straits, and the New Orleans Hornets are currently owned by the NBA, both would be candidates to move to Seattle.....

This has been almost daily news around here the past few days. XM radio has also been talking about it. This group that does appear close, is the one that includes Jeremy Roenick.

Looks to me like Uncle Gary still believes in Phoenix as a suitable market, and would rather munch down a dog turd sandwich before admitting it was a dumb idea to have a team in the desert.

I really do hope Quebec City gets the Yotes.

On yesterday's episode of TSN's OTR, during Michael Landsberg's interview, Shane Doan said that for the last two months, home crowds had been averaging "fifteen thousand".

From TSN:

While the Phoenix Coyotes continue their battle on the ice, the team's fight off the ice appears to be on a winning course.

ESPN.com and TSN Hockey Analyst Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the Coyotes could be nearing a sale, which would keep the team in Phoenix.

Uncle Gary can stick it up his ass.

As far as Jamison and the NHL are concerned, as long as Glendale taxpayers and especially Arizona state taxpayers aren't further exposed to collateral in the event the historically never profitable Coyotes go down the financial s***ter again, and it's entirely Jamison or the NHL, I'm no opposition.

All has been quiet from the Goldwater front, this is the last I heard from them:

http://107.20.138.12/article/goldwater-institute-ready-scrutinize-next-shot-phoenix-coyotes-sale

The Goldwater Institute is ready to give the once over to a possible sale of the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team to see if a deal is kosher with Arizona law prohibiting government gifts to private businesses.

The National Hockey League and city of Glendale are up against the wall and are trying to work out sale of the league-owned team to a new owner who will keep the team in Arizona. The NHL and city are trying to forge a deal with an investment and ownership group led by former San Jose Sharks CEO Greg Jamison. Two other groups are also interested in the Coyotes but Jamison is the lead pick by the city and league.

Goldwater attorney Carrie Ann Sitren said the conservative watchdog group hasn’t received much information lately from Glendale about the Coyotes deal but is ready to examine a possible deal with Jamison or another prospective owner.

“We’re going to scrutinize it,” Sitren said.

The Phoenix group opposed a previous Glendale deal that involved city bonds to facilitate a Coyotes sale to Chicago investment executive Matthew Hulsizer. Goldwater threatened to sue the city over the bonds in a move that helped scuttle a Coyotes sale to Hulsizer.

The Arizona Constitution prohibits government financial gifts to businesses. Goldwater took plenty of heat from Glendale and Coyotes fans for opposing the Hulsizer bonds.

Glendale and the NHL are working to make the next incarnation of a Coyotes sale immune from a Goldwater lawsuit over the state constitution’s gift clause.

The Coyotes lose $20 million to $25 million per season, according to some reports. The city will pay new Coyotes owners to run Jobing.com Arena, according to the reports.

I've been reading some of the "alleged" details of the upcoming deal and I have come to the conclusion that Jamison wears this:

They had a press conference last night, all they have right now is an understanding. We've seen that before and then it falls apart so maybe after tonight's council meeting there will be something more.

I'll give it 3 weeks after the Coyotes are eliminated that this deal falls apart. Who wants to take over-under on that?

I think you might be right...This Jamison fellow was mentioned several months ago as a potential buyer of the Yotes...Seems as though both sides are still trying to get everything sorted out without Goldwater intervening which will be hard to do.

The hard part is finding a way to make taxpayers collateral without Goldwater suing them s***less.

Just for scrutiny's sake I need to read/hear what Jamison's plan of profit is for a franchise that has never turned a profit in that city. I certainly don't trust Bettman who I know will use taxpayers as collateral at any given opportunity.
