wait, they "come alive"?
Comparatively.
I wonder what Gary's deadline is this time. Or has he finally given up announcing one since he never sticks to it?

From Arizona Republic:
Two previously unsuccessful bidders for the Phoenix Coyotes have joined efforts to explore whether to make another attempt to purchase the orphaned franchise.
Canadian marketing professional Anthony LeBlanc and Chicago financier Matthew Hulsizer, who previously came up short in efforts to buy the Coyotes, are “exploring options” about possible terms and conditions to acquire the team anew, LeBlanc told The Arizona Republic on Monday.
LeBlanc would serve as the front man for the investment group, which eventually could include five or six investors, he said.
...
It "could include five or six investors"?
I laugh heartily at this speculation.
If they're expecting Glendale council to bend the existing "terms and conditions" to suit them, I can't see that going any further than it already has.

I was about to click on this when a little tid bit of information struck me as RIDICULOUS:
This topic has been going on since May 6 2009.
This "situation" will have been around for 4 years soon,
How long did Atlanta have issues before they got shipped to Winnipeg?
This is just silly, if quallified buyers cannot be found to keep the team in Pho, move it.
Qualified buyers cannot be found to buy and move the team, contract it, and say sorry Panthers you go too!
Posted 12 February 2013 - 11:47 PM
I wouldn't be against contraction.
Posted 13 February 2013 - 06:56 PM
I wouldn't be against contraction.
I don't think anyone would be in favor really. Certainly not Bettman because it would be undeniable proof of failure. And it would mean fewer jobs for the NHLPA.
Moving it seems like more of a possibility with each coming week. Though it puts a kink in the whole realignment plan when you don't know where Phoenix would end up.

LeBlanc and Hulsizer again?? JUST FOLD THE TEAM, IM SICK OF THIS s*** ALREADY!!!!

The League has already stated long ago that moving back into Colisée Pepsi is not an option. Pond hockey might outdraw games in Glendale.

Hey Neil, check this s*** the Yotes released today:
Coyotes Fans: Do you believe in your team? Are you up for fun and suspense? Are you feeling lucky? If you answered YES to any of the above (or you’re a chocolate obsessed Oompa-Loompa) then the Phoenix Coyotes GOALden Ticket is for you.
Here’s your chance to attend the Coyotes final TEN (10) regular season home games and sit in the Lower Bowl for as little as $100. (Regular Price: $75/game). The 10-game slate includes two games versus the rival Detroit Red Wings, the only visit to the Valley by the Vancouver Canucks and two games versus the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings.
The process is simple…
- For just $100 you can purchase a GOALden Ticket valid for admission to the Coyotes final 10 home games up until the Coyotes allow a running tally of FIVE (5) goals.
- For $250 you can buy a GOALden ticket valid for TWENTY-FIVE (25) goals against.
As a bonus, if the Coyotes record a shutout in any home game during which your GOALden ticket is still valid, you’ll receive a free ticket to the Coyotes Fan Appreciation Night game on April 26th versus the Colorado Avalanche.
This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen....other than the ongoing BS ownership thing....

Really?
I'm a firm believer that Bettman & Co spend a good portion of their day with their heads up their rectum, but in all honesty I haven't heard anything concerning not wanting to return to Quebec City - more specifically the Colisee Pepsi...In a few years their shiny new arena should be completed.

Where is Jamison now, didn't he stay something like the deadline day was a good day for him? How close was this guy to a deal? I really think the NHL should stop playing games with the fans and tell them what's really going on. If I'd be a Yotes fan I'd be very very pissed at this point.

Jamison saved himself a whole lot of money and a whole lot more headaches.
What was it that Jerry Moyes said oh so long ago:
"They told me I would lose a little money; they didn't say I would lose a lot of money".

If I were an Atlanta fan, I'd be pissed. Bettman has fought tooth and nail beyond logic to keep Phoenix where they are, and the Thrashers weren't even a blip on his radar.

Keep in mind the fact that Atlanta has had two different franchises.
Just like Quebec City.

What other NHL franchise did Quebec City have other than the Nordiques?

in 1919-20 they had a team for a year called the Quebec Bulldogs. they lasted only a year.
but all that aside this is just getting a bit ridiculous. Either someone by the damn team already or relocate them to a city where hockey would thrive. Either Seattle or Quebec.

The whole history of the Quebec / Hamilton / New York / Brooklyn franchise has it all: failed attempts to get a team going, the first player's strike in NHL history and organized crime connections.

From Phoenix Business Journal:
National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman said today the league continues to talk about ownership groups about buying the Phoenix Coyotes and keeping them in Glendale.
The question for the Coyotes’ future in Arizona is whether the NHL has begun or might already be talking to potential team buyers in other markets. Quebec City, suburban Toronto, Seattle, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas and Portland could all be in the mix if the NHL starts looking at the relocation option for the Coyotes.
That is what happened in 2011 when the Atlanta Thrashers were sold to a deep-pocketed ownership group that moved the team to Winnipeg.
...
The latest realignment eliminates two of the possible markets and, sadly, they're the ones that would generate the most revenue.

I think Bettman & Co have their heads up their rectum on a number of issues.
