How about Saskatoon or Regina? I am sure that region could support a NHL team...Bettman is a boob! I am all for America and beat the USA drum, but I also am tired of cities getting teams that cannot support the club.  Look at Tampa, even while winning the Cup they couldn't sell out the arena. The time for expanding to cities that could care less about the NHL is over...OKC? Really? Hey Gary, how about Cody, Wyoming?

By the way...with the new forum skin, how do you link urls to include your own text in them, rather than just the address?

Uncle Gary might just be wrangling a new location as we speak...something left coast or central. Too bad Canada doesn't have a plethora of large-population cities.

In regards to the link you provided - Quebec City seems like the only logical choice at this point in time.

A new arena is supposed to be underway; a plethora of fans; pretty much guaranteed to be a big $$$ generator...Somehow Bettman will f**k this up, and allow them to re-locate to Phoenix part deux.

Imagine you are a player of the Coyotes at what point do you get fed up with all this crap? Sure they are getting their money from the NHL, but not knowing if you have to move (again) or not must be really frustrating for players, girlfriends and their families.

I think the NHL not only owes a solution towards the fans but also to the players, managment there. Tippet would be a heck of an assistent coach this guy knows perfectly how to run the defense or penalty killing.

If Mr. I would be paying him like a head-coach maybe there is a small chance of getting him?

Don't forget the impact on the"puck bunny" community in Glendale.

Uncle Gary's new and improved League alignment makes a move to Quebec City not in his ego's best interest. And in the end, isn't this what it's all about?

Yes.  Yes it is.  *I* want the Coyotes in Phoenix, and I am the boss.

New money; from Sportsnet:

With stories about relocation of the Phoenix Coyotes to Quebec surfacing, sources very familiar with the Glendale situation have told Sportsnet that a group of Canadian investors are on the verge of finalizing a deal with the NHL to purchase the troubled Arizona hockey team.

The key investor is Albertan George Gosbee, who is leading a small group of investors, including Anthony LeBlanc and his former Ice Edge partners.

Another one bites the dust:

http://espn.go.com/n...phoenix-coyotes

California investment banker Darin Pastor has joined a long list of would-be Phoenix Coyotessuitors whose interest in owning the team could not translate to an actual money-on-the-table purchase.

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told ESPN.com on Monday that Pastor's bid to buy the team was dismissed because it didn't meet the league's requirements.

"We have rejected the offer. It didn't include the elements we had previously discussed were necessary to warrant serious consideration," Daly said in an email Monday night.

Pastor told ESPN.com Monday he had not heard directly from the league regarding the rejection of his offer.

"This is news to me," he said.

What really disgusts me is how Bettman had zero issue with re-locating teams outta Canada in a heartbeat, and how this joke of a franchise in the desert continues to carry on (much of it on the dime of the Glendale taxpayers).

Just move this joke of a franchise to Quebec City already (although the re-alignment of teams will pose a serious issue).

I sure hope this doesn't screw up the League's plan for an outdoor game.

If I call Bettman right now and express interest in buying the Phoenix Coyotes will he give me some time to secure funding?  What a joke this has become.  Who cares if the East has 3 more teams.  Move the Coyotes to Quebec NOW.

Actually, I find Staples Center's ice to be pretty good.  Which is funny, because that building is shared between the Kings/Clippers/Lakers.  Honda Center is the ducks' building only and it's always a step away from a 7-11 slurpee.

As someone who lives in Phoenix, I would love to see the Coyotes stay here under new ownership. However they really screwed up by building the new arena out in Glendale. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Such a shame.

No to Quebec, that would make our stay in the East VERY short....It's gonna have to be Seattle or Portland...
