Look I am sorry and I did get way over emotional with this whole thing And I Apologize to All Duck Fans and Wings Fans as a whole.....

My Very immature and un-thought out responses were irrational, Knee Jerk type thing.

I get overly pissed when a Fan takes it upon himself to beat up other fans because of a jersey or a

favorite team... I understand that fans are fans and some indulge in the drink counter a little too much

and things can get outta hand.

But to get into a childs face is really quite classless. I dont care who you are...you dont get into another childs face over anything....... Its not right at all.

Tho my responses in this thread were indeed out of RAW emotion and lack of consideration, I still hold to my beliefs that fans should just be fans and being a fan should be fun...not a test of survival.

Again I cannot express my DEEPEST REGRET for the way i acted in this and other threads reguarding Duck fans, I dont expect to be forgiven....by any of the fans here or there...... But, I did (eventually) apologize for my out bursts and childish actions......

Let this be on our minds when we watch games at the Joe. If Wings fans start going over the line perhaps having a fellow Wings fan calmly interject may stop something bad from happening to visiting fans.

I don't drink much and I'm not a big guy, so I stay clear of brawl situations.

Hockey fans are hockey fans, jerks are jerks. Doesn't matter if you count yourself a Wings fan, a Ducks fan, or whatever--there are both on every side. It's the harassment and violence that's unacceptable, not the allegiance of the people who perpetrate it. But no one should make sweeping generalizations about an entire fan base, city, or ethnicity, and I'm glad you get that.

Remember folks, if you're going to the Ponda tomorrow your best defense against any unwanted confrontation is to stay in groups, not by packing weapons or anything equally bone-headed. Also, I'm thinking if some of the more surly constituents of the Ducks fanbase act this classless in victory, they'll be far worse in defeat.

I also heavily side with the notion of guiding fellow Wing fans whether at the Joe or the Ponda to use proper etiquette. My respect for NHL fans as a whole has taken quite a few hits this post season and I would really love the trend to discontinue.

Do you think tonight's attitude will be better towards Wings fans when (no IF about it!) the Wings win?

Here's my concern: Tuesday night's behavior by a large number of Duck fans was atrocious and that was after a win. How pissed off are they going to be when they're drunk and they lose?

I couldn't agree more that there is safety in numbers. For all those attending tonight's game stay safe and don't let any fan intimidate you from showing your support of the Wings.

A suggestion to all Wings fans attending tonight's game:

Stay in your seats after the game until security asks you to leave, and then say:

"It's a good thing you're here, I'd like to request a security escort to my car. I do not feel safe in your parking lot."

That's what I'm going to do. They need to be made aware of their security issue.

Other than that, try and stick together. A large group of fans is less likely to be messed with than individuals.

Also, if you own dogs that shoot bees out of their mouths when they bark, bring them with you to the game.

I'd probably not even wear a sweater to an away game, having heard horror stories.

On a more positive note, at the Winter Classic this year with my brother (we both wore Wings jerseys), we got a couple jeers on the street around Wrigley going in, but during the game, the people around us were pretty good-natured and were joking with us during the game, even when the Hawks were down. Granted we were with two Hawks fans, but it's kinda uplifting to know that not every event is full of retarded ****** bags.

Yeah, the Winter Classic isn't playoff hockey, but it was still a big event that a lot of people were incredibly excited for (especially it being in Wrigley). I was really surprised, having grown up in the Chicago area, that I didn't catch more crap from Hawks fans.

Honestly, I just want the fans of both sides to be decent human beings first and then fans. I don't mind people cheering for their team, or the booing of Pronger, or a little bit of "Remember who won the stanley cup last year?" but stealing, pushing, shoving or even breaking people's car windows just makes me feel sick.

What I really like about this board is the majority of the people here are hockey fans first (unbiased and reasonable), and then you are red wings homers second (not saying being a homer is bad, it's a good thing when done right, it's part of being a fan of your team of choice.) Agree, and dude I was going to rage on you when your posting. It sounds like your glad that were getting beat up in the parking lots, and stuff like that. So now we all have to go to NHL games half scared of maybe get jumped in the parking lot? That ain't fun what so ever.

Honestly, I love hockey. I can't even begin to explain how much. The thought of skipping a game because of fear, because of not supporting my team or wearing my team colors it seems so absurd. We're all human beings. Hockey is a very emotionally charged sport but I also think sometimes people when they put on their jersey of choice forget that. I don't want any single person to ever have to be afraid to attend a game or to NOT wear their team colors to a hockey game no matter where it is. I do not think that fan violence is a good thing - ever. I personally would like to make a difference in it so if you've had a bad experience and we've had a bad experience - it's time to finally step up and do something about it. Report it. I was informed that 9 incidences happened on Ponda property on Tuesday night. NINE... that's a horrifying number.

I feel like I should mention this (number three being most important)...

1.) The joker sitting next to us was a total tool and was yelling retarded stuff for most of the first period. Then gave us a bunch of s*** when the Ducks scored the first goal of the game. I gave a little back to him but realized he was such a moron, I gave up. He actually shut up and wasn't a jackass much longer. Props to him for realizing he was an idiot.

2.) I had an aisle seat and some A-hole walked past me to his seat while I was waiving goodbye to Hiller... He dumped a quarter of his mixed drink on me. He never looked at me and I was confused on whether he meant to or not. I think if he didn't mean it, he would have apologized. Either way, I was the top row of the lower bowl and I asked the usher if he had seen it. He said no but was chomping at the bit to go yell at the guy. I told him to forget it since he didn't see it. It was only a quarter of his drink and I was in good spirits since we chased Hiller.

3.) Some punks from a suite nailed me in the back of the head during the third period with a peanut (inside the shell). I actually had no idea who threw it but 5 minutes later a nice guy came down in a Ducks jersey and apologized saying that someone in his crew had thrown it and it wasn't cool. He bought my girlfriend and I a drink and kept apologizing saying, "that wasn't cool, that's not how we do it here. The least I can do is get you both a drink." Anyway, they are not all total jerks... I thought that was really cool of the guy to come out and say they did it since I had no idea.

My earlier posts weren't to justify the horrible treatment of the red wings fans but more so to point out it was coming from all ends but having experienced it myself I let my anger and outrage take over.

Gotta tip my hat to the wings for bringing their "A" game tonight. Unfortunately, more incidences occurred. Police were too busy taking care of victims instead of capturing the drunk jerks. I was standing near the first aid place while waiting for my guest to finish in the restroom and saw an older gentleman probably about 60 or 70 carried into the room with his head completely bandaged up and blood was still dripping. Just horrible. I asked the security guard if a lot of fights were going on and he just said "It's playoff hockey". Decided to wait inside till the crowds died down just to avoid any mayhem.

Although I did notice more policemen it obviously wasn't enough. I just hope the Honda center learns something and gets even more security there for game 6 because hoping the fans will be mature and civil seems out of the question.
