Actually that last shift looked like Cleary was up with Z and Pasha. That might be a good idea.

I like Homer, but 5-on-5 he has been getting owned this whole series.

Said that earlier, Cleary is a better fit with Z&D. Homer is a need on the PP though.

Anyone else pick up on #13 on the ducks swatting a wings player in the back of the head with around 8 minutes to go I think? Dirty play. I think Homer was laying on the ice and a Ducks player kept hitting him in the head...another dirty play.

So I keep trying to convince my girlfriend that when we get married and have kids we should name our first son Johan...since I am in fact part swedish...and she is not down with it...I have moved to pushing for it as a middle name...and by damn I will get it...

Hell Franzenstein is a Wing for 11 more years...I plan to have a kid that watches hockey by the end of his contract...I will watch the Wings with that son and say "Boy that is the man your middle name is named after...he is a playoff clutchtime hero"

And that boy will bubble with pride!

they beat the living crap out of Ozzie last game, piling on him in the crease and smacking him in the back of the head after the play. At least they're leaving him alone, more or less, tonight.

So to sum up the 1st period, despite a bumpy start, Franzen has single-handedly spanked the line that has owned us all series long. Furthermore ZDH is back and looking pretty good, we're winning puck battles along the board and have practically impaled the neutral zone with a huge Wings flag, because we conquered it for most of that period.

A part of me must think having Steve Yzerman even know your name is akin to being Catholic and getting to meet the Pope. It's a once in a lifetime thing, and you should treat is as a blessing from God (or whatever deity you believe in).

That's probably because once the wings started playing, they couldn't get into the offensive zone. We have 40 more minutes to see if they continue to leave him alone. Somehow I doubt it.

Helm was never tested by playing with other top liners. He is doing his job on the 4th liner. Can you think any of the Wings who can be replaced from the top 2 lines?
