Our series vs the Hawks will be amazing to watch. I'm giddy already.

(Before anyone replies with "don't count your eggs before they hatch"... We'd have to seriously fail hard tomorrow to push to game 7. The Ducks are on the ropes, and it's obvious.)

props to the hawks. they scare me a little, and they're rivals, but i'm still glad to see hockey coming alive in chicago again. and to see the central represent. let's close out the ducks tomorrow and look forward to what i think has the potential to be one of the best playoff series in years!

Not for the Hawks anyways.

Bulls yes.. Hawks no.

Bulls actually make it back to the playoffs? Haven't paid attention to the NBA much at all since Jordan left the Bulls.

As strange as it is, until the Leafs build dynasty teams, I dont see ANY canadian team hoisting the Cup. But if the Leafs break the drought, then the Canadian teams will go wild with Cups. Dunno, some strange preposition I have.

This, folks, is why you don't spend $7,000,000 of your team's salary on the goaltender.

Congrats to the Hawks! May the Wings advance and go on to destroy them in the next round smile.gif

Even if Osgood is more expensive and even if you can throw the "he played on great teams" argument around, one thing has been true throughout his career: the guy really knows how to win. I don't think Luongo is a big-game goalie. He'll probably find his way to a Cup sooner or later (maybe...), but he won't go down with the true greats. Meanwhile, Osgood has humbly and quietly continued to get the job done year after year, always giving his team a chance to win and coming up with huge games when it counts. He's a playoff goalie. I don't think Luongo has what it takes. Even with a rough D, if he was as good as he's built up to be, he wouldn't struggle this much.

I hope he's never a Wing.

You missed one of the best first-round series ever this year vs the Celtics. Multiple OT games.

Anyone else think that the Hawks/Wings series will completely eclipse a series against whoever comes from the East?

That's my only fear. I kinda want the Penguins to win now just to give the Finals some controversy.

If it were all to work out, what really intrigues me is that Pavel Datsyuk is waaaaay overdue. What better way to get him going other than to unleash him on the Hawks.

Schadenfreude alert! Canucks message board are losing their minds and the site is slow to the point of collapsing, likely from a rush of fans to ***** about their team.

Thanks for the 2 rounds but you are all found lacking yet again Canucks. Luongo lets in 7 goals ha I would rather take my chances with better forwards and Cory in net then throw 7-10 million at Luongo.

What a fracking joke, Luongo will never be looked at the same way again after this game. Why do i waste my time and emotions cheering for this joke of a franchise.

I'm not a basketball fan, but that series wasf****** ridiculous. Seriously, it was just great entertainment. Also, seeing Glen Davis almost tear Doc Rivers' hand off with his low five the other day was hilarious, too.

So, we're dogpiling on the goalie sammy Hudler the defense the refs league bias against us coaching now? Ok.

I don't know about lots, but definitely some. But again, the Wings have major depth. And the Hawks do not like the idea of having to face an overdue Pavel Datsyuk if they have to.

IDK, they came from behind in 6 of their 8 wins. Two of those were multi-goal deficits. Even in two of their losses, they came back from 3 down to tie it, only to lose later. 2-0 in OT, which isn't that big of a deal, except when you compare it to our OT record. That's serious to me. You can't EVER count them out of a game, even if you're up 3 in the 3rd.

I just hope we can close it out tomorrow to make the rest about equal. Hey, if you want to be the champs, you have to be able to beat everyone else, even the hot teams.

It's pretty ridiculous; the Hawks are literally the second scariest team behind the Wings in the playoffs.

Losing to the Hawks isn't anything to be ashamed of--they're going to be a dominant force in the West for years to come.
