sjradio 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 NHL.com is reporting that Livonia native Mike Modano will return for his 20th NHL season. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=422407&intcmpid=tckr All I can say is... You go Mike. He's never really been given the accolades that he really deserves. Spent his entire career with the Stars franchise.

Statts 4 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Always liked Madano. One of the best American born players. Great leader and team player. Although, not what he once was, he can still contribute and should be able to retire a Star when he sees fit.

A first ballot hall of famer, no question.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Pure class player, my favourite player when i grew up i remember, all the best of luck to this michigan native and probably the best american born player to play the game (yeah even better than hull)
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted May 12, 2009 He's a good contributor. There's a reason he can't seem to stay captain for too long, but if he can stay healthy for a full season he's got the speed, hands, and grit to get it done. One of USA hockey's finest of all time. I can especially respect that he's stayed with the same team his entire career. Also, can respect that he was born in Livonia like my father was.

Modano is borderline HoFer imho, personally I would not put him in, but he will probably make it because he is one of the best American players ever.

GMRwings1983 8,789 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Madonna can still produce points, but isn't really a guy they can count on anymore to lead the team. Wouldn't be surprised if he winds up a 3rd liner next year.

kidish 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Modano is a real class act. He was better when younger, but he's adjusted his play to stay relevant nonetheless. The Dallas organization is lucky to have him.
