2009 WCSF GAME 7: Ducks 3 at Red Wings 4

Those refs should be embarrased that they call themselves NHL referres. That piece of work does not belong in the national hockey league.

Sad thing was, Buttman was actually at the game too.... at least the wings overcame that adversity and won :)

WOO HOO!!!!! just watched the game (recorded)! god, this feels great. there's not team in the league that i like beating even close to as much as i like beating the ducks!! it's weird to say it, but this victory feels about as good as winning the cup last year. one thing's for sure, this series was far tougher than any series the wings played en route to their cup last year.

WOO!!!!!!!

Detroit fought so hard... I am proud to be a Wings fan. The whole series was an uphill battle. It just shows how good this team is after so many teams winning the cup and fading the next year.

They did not give up. They found a way, in spite of all the odds.

I agree. I was scared going into the playoffs becuase I didn't want to be just another Cup team with a "Cup hangover". Other fans would have a field day with that--good to see us back in the Western Finals!

Bring on the Blackhawks!

Ozzie was great! CLEARY ist he MAN and wow what a goal by Helm.

WOOOOOOO! ONTO THE WCF! GO WINGS!!!

Also, I am SOOO mad because I recorded the game and just got home and it didn't record. The time was am not pm. :( Does anyone know if it'll be repeated? I am so bummed. I really want to see it again.

Neidermayer - "Well, he kinda pushed Hiller's pad. I didn't know that was allowed."

Reporter - "Really? As I recall, that's all you guys did with Osgood."

Seriously? Did reporters respond that way?

Wings should of won by more.

and wtf helm does he have rockets on his skates or what? lol

ducks did not execute

Tie breaker goal by clear was good.

Clearly got his ultimate revenge on the drunk duck fan that was yelling at him before game 3

I know you're hurting right now, and you came back anyway. You're nuthin' but a class fan. They should clone you out there in LaLa land! Please keep coming back.

Just got back from the party, and all I've gotta say is "GO WINGS!"

Actually, I got a bit more to say. f*** the Anaheim Lucks. They have got to be the luckiest goddamn team in the ******* NHL. The NHL should be embarrassed for the two non-calls on Hossa in the first and the absolutely posif***ingtively horses*** call on Hudler that got them a goal, and the goalie interference on Oz for the Selanne goal. Then that goddamn broken stick; no other team in the world would have gotten a goal out of that play except the Ducks. I was basically livid watching this game, from top to bottom.

Thank god they pulled it out. And you know what Pavel? For that kind of PKing, you're still worth seven million dollars! :D

What a fantastic game! I was so proud of the way they played! Glad to see the boys win in spite of the horrible calls and non calls! When Cleary scored, I went all Ovechkin in my living room! Not a game for the faint of heart. I felt sick so many times and had to remind myself to breathe. LOL

Glad we got it done tonight! Bring on Chicago!!!!

Nah, I'd say they're right in line with the league's standards. And therein lies the problem.

Yeah, I'm all for the draft system where the the worst teams get the higher draft picks in an attempt to even out the competition. But god help bettman if a team like the Wings who know what the F they are doing and are able to continually put out a competitive team that can reasonable compete for the cup every year. Holly crap we can't have a team like that in the league, we need to make sure they lose! Heart always wins out Gary you piece of crap as you saw tonight. I call for your resignation tonight. You have run this league into the GD ground no wonder the NBA didn't miss a thing when you left. You dont give a crap about this great game and you know this deep down. If you did, you would see what a horrible marketing job you are doing and would fire your own ass.

He brings home the bacon for the league. In that sense, I can't knock the guy. He does his job, and I appreciate that.

What I don't appreciate is all the garbage that happens under his watch but gets written off as coming with the territory of the overall financial viability that he secures for the league. Granted, half of the crap that's blamed on him isn't his fault. But to know that he's watching a series like this and to know that, despite this, no changes will be made to the officiating system in the way of a challenge system, or new forms of replay, or clearer standards -- it's just bush league.

Do I think he actually has it out for the Wings? You know what, I do. He wants change, progress, expansion, "parity." The perpetual motion machine that is the Red Wings organization makes it difficult. 2 + 2...

How about the psychological condition of the Wings? I say there was more pressure in this series than anything else down the road. Alot of the integral parts of this Wings team had never enjoyed playoff success against the Ducks. It is the worst of matchups for the Wings because the best part of the Ducks game is the weakest part of the Wings team. Our stud players, in general, underperformed, AND WE STILL WON. Teams that want to skate with the wings can't get there. That's why, from this point on, just watch what Zetterburg and Datsyuk do. We walk through Chicago and, hopefully, get the chance to rematch Sindy and the Whiners and put another asswhippin' on the Pens that they'll never forget. CHEERS!!

What an amazing game. I can't recall anything as exciting last year. I almost wasn't sure it actually happened. What a relief to have Anaheim out of the way! And withuot our top line performing.

I hope they don't underestimate what comes next, though. After all, this was only the 2nd round. Don't underestimate Chicago. They're young, they're hungry, and they have it out for the Wings. Should be a great series. But I think the NHL should really be thanking us for doing away with that embarassment that is the Anaheim Ducks.

All the "7s" about this game were crazy though. 7th game 7 at the Joe, 7 goals scored, etc., etc.

Excited for Chicago, disappointing I'll start missing most of the games again due to work. Lame.
