I agree. I was scared going into the playoffs becuase I didn't want to be just another Cup team with a "Cup hangover". Other fans would have a field day with that--good to see us back in the Western Finals!
Bring on the Blackhawks!

Reporter - "Really? As I recall, that's all you guys did with Osgood."
Seriously? Did reporters respond that way?

Actually, I got a bit more to say. f*** the Anaheim Lucks. They have got to be the luckiest goddamn team in thef****** NHL. The NHL should be embarrassed for the two non-calls on Hossa in the first and the absolutely posif***ingtively horses*** call on Hudler that got them a goal, and the goalie interference on Oz for the Selanne goal. Then that goddamn broken stick; no other team in the world would have gotten a goal out of that play except the Ducks. I was basically livid watching this game, from top to bottom.
Thank god they pulled it out. And you know what Pavel? For that kind of PKing, you're still worth seven million dollars!
No, you know what we are, we're good. You can't do what we do every single day and not be good." - Mike Babcock

Of course. Bettman is pissed because we defeated his prodigy, Corsby last year.

Nah, I'd say they're right in line with the league's standards. And therein lies the problem.

Yeah, I'm all for the draft system where the the worst teams get the higher draft picks in an attempt to even out the competition. But god help bettman if a team like the Wings who know what the F they are doing and are able to continually put out a competitive team that can reasonable compete for the cup every year. Holly crap we can't have a team like that in the league, we need to make sure they lose! Heart always wins out Gary you piece of crap as you saw tonight. I call for your resignation tonight. You have run this league into the GD ground no wonder the NBA didn't miss a thing when you left. You dont give a crap about this great game and you know this deep down. If you did, you would see what a horrible marketing job you are doing and would fire your own ass.

He brings home the bacon for the league. In that sense, I can't knock the guy. He does his job, and I appreciate that.
What I don't appreciate is all the garbage that happens under his watch but gets written off as coming with the territory of the overall financial viability that he secures for the league. Granted, half of the crap that's blamed on him isn't his fault. But to know that he's watching a series like this and to know that, despite this, no changes will be made to the officiating system in the way of a challenge system, or new forms of replay, or clearer standards -- it's just bush league.
Do I think he actually has it out for the Wings? You know what, I do. He wants change, progress, expansion, "parity." The perpetual motion machine that is the Red Wings organization makes it difficult. 2 + 2...

Way to go wings, through all the bulls*** you guys really did come through for us. Class of the league for sure. Like a true team, you let us ***** and complain but on the ice, that's where you guys talk. WAY TO GET IT DONE BOYS!
Tonight is one of the many reason why I am a wings fan.

I hope they don't underestimate what comes next, though. After all, this was only the 2nd round. Don't underestimate Chicago. They're young, they're hungry, and they have it out for the Wings. Should be a great series. But I think the NHL should really be thanking us for doing away with that embarassment that is the Anaheim Ducks.
All the "7s" about this game were crazy though. 7th game 7 at the Joe, 7 goals scored, etc., etc.
Excited for Chicago, disappointing I'll start missing most of the games again due to work. Lame.
