"E-Mail to the Detroit Red Wings, Hilarious or Classless...I'll let you decide!"

"Dear Detroit Red Wings Ticket Account Representative / Intern,

Congratulations on yet again reaching the Western Conference Finals. It’s nice to see that the Red Wings are giving your city a glimmer of hope, especially as it’s evident that your economy is perhaps, “struggling.†As you may be aware, this recession has reached far beyond Detroit’s beautiful lakefront. As a recent college graduate, I struggle to pay my student loan bills, remain gainfully employed, and find time for my ever budding social life. While my discretionary income is at times limited, I make sure I never miss an opportunity to head over to the United Center and watch the Chicago Blackhawks. As a season ticket holder, I’ve had the opportunity to watch the Blackhawks magical transformation first hand, and it’s been something very special to be apart of.

Due to my status as an employed person, like most Americans, I am subject to paying federal income taxes. While taxes are typically used to fund a variety of useful programs, Detroit has been the beneficiary of a questionable bailout at the hands of the average American tax payer, like me. As my taxes continue to fund your inability to manufacture a problem free automobile, it frustrates me that it is my very tax dollars that are allowing residents of Michigan [employed by GM and Chrysler] to purchase tickets to attend games at the Joe Louis arena.

Given your recent slew of handouts, I am now asking for one of my own. Would it be possible for you to provide me with four free tickets to either Game 1 or Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals? They don’t even have to be good. I’ll even take standing room only tickets! I think this request is beyond reasonable, given that you’ll have trouble selling your venue out anyway. I will be happy to drive my American made Chrysler product [have had the vehicle for 4 years, and have had 3 major problems] to Detroit and perhaps inflict some dollars into your economy as I take in the Hawks/Red Wings game and later try my luck at the MGM Grand Casino.

If this request seems fair, which it is, please free to contact me at your earliest convenience. Finally, I’ll leave you with one final note. Detroit Sucks! Go Hawks!

Sincerely,

gongshow

He just emailed the Detroit Red Wings office and bitched about his automobile problems. Ilitch has nothing to do with the auto companies - and neither do the Wings.

In short, he made a complete and total idiot out of himself.. so there's no need for me to make fun of him any further. He did that all on his own.

I wish humans allowed for natural selection. This guy would have been weeded out a long time ago.

:ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

Everyone pays there taxes, employed or not employed. Some people are just stupid. We cannot fix stupid, we can fix dumb but not stupid.

I'm not sure what his exact point is...? To me, it seems like he's saying everyone in Detroit lost their jobs...even those people that didn't work at GM. Am I mistaken, or does all of Michigan work for GM and Chrysler? Gongshow is obviously the College that moron graduated from. He's probably a massage "rub and tug" therapist major.

looks like a radio gimic to me. Actually it's kind of funny. Wonder if he got them. Some people here seem to over react to what should be fun joking between teams. Hitting a woman with a chair, classless. Why not turn it around and do the same to them. Out of work Detroiter would like tickets. Since your town is doing so well please send 10 tickets so me and my friends can watch an ass whipping on your Chicago Blackhwawks. Don't worry, we as former hard workers will make up for the tickets in beer sales.

This goes back to another thread but, I dont mind the Chicago players the fans however.... Well he made plenty of our points with this ridiculous email. It really aggravates me to read stuff like that. Yes the economy is hurting, yes they asked for bailouts. But this affects the whole nation and at this time I don't think it is something to make light of.

We may not be Sausage Kings like they are in Chicago, but at least we have Class and Pride.

and clearly his college education went to waste....

he is not the only one that helps pay taxes for things such as the bailout, but so does everyone that makes a paycheck... including those who work for the companies such as GM and Chrysler

some facts for the gongshow and every other blackhawk fan who cracks jokes about job loss in Michigan and how these Illinois people are so much better....

Michigan Unemployment Rate: 12.9%

Michigan Population: 10,003,422

"Jobless" in Michigan: 1,290,441

Illinois Unemployment Rate: 9.4%

Illinois Population: 12,901,563

"Jobless" in Illinois: 1,212,746

for an overall difference of 77,695 jobs

Get of your high horse, realize that this job issue hits more then just Michigan, and is hitting you in your own state...

also, about your car... know how to maintain a vehicle, a vehicle lasts only as long as you take care of it, dumbass

and you went to college?!? ... hopefully you didnt pay too much for your education

(that you most likely took a loan out to pay for, which i might add came out of American tax dollars when you needed it)
