Caps players on Steroids?

Because when I played, at an admittedly very low level, lots of players juiced. I suspect that some of them still do. Why wouldn't they, there's not much stopping them from it. I didn't agree with it then and I don't now, but that's how the world works. People use illegal sticks all the time. I suspect it's the same with substances. Also, in the player's defence, there is a fair bit of "grey area". The line between legitimate medical need and intentional doping is a fine one, as is the line between legal and banned substances.

The reason you don't here about it is probably that it's A) dificult for the media to know for certain and B) nobody (in the US, anyway) cares. This isn't baseball, a super-popular sport with a reputation as "America's game" and a squeaky-clean immage, it's hockey; a second tier profesional sport in terms of newsworthyness and one who's popular immage (at least in the US) is a mix of the barbarianism of cockfighting and the boringness of soccer. I suspect a steroid scandal in the NHL would be slightly less noticed by American sportsfans than a story about a heterosexual woman found playing in the WNBA.

I tried Tren for a week and it stole my mojo for like 6 months. That was a good enough reason for me to stop.

A week? sounds very odd, although tren should be stacked with Testo and the use of HCG is required to keep the testicles up and running

Drug use of any kind is cheating, it doesn't matter at what level or in what sport. When it comes to hockey, I expect a higher pedigree of ethics. Baseball in the US has been destroyed by the habits of greedy home run hitters. Hockey has never had a scandal that approaches any of the epic issues that have run rampant in both MLB and the NFL. A cheater is a cheater, and I have no respect for one. Banned for life from the sport is the only answer in my mind.

 Agree. Cheating by use of drugs is just as bad as gambling on the game. (A la Pete Rose).

Law enforcement officials in Lakeland, Fla., arrested two people Tuesday on charges of steroid possession, and that the individuals claimed to have sold them to players on the Washington Capitals and Washington Nationals.

"Richard Thomas told Sheriff's narcotics detectives when he was asked if he had sold steroids to professional athletes, 'Name the sport - if they played it, I sold it,'" Judd said in a statement. "Then Richard Thomas went further and specifically mentioned two professional sports teams from the Washington D.C. area whose players he had sold steroids to - the DC Nationals baseball team, and the Washington Capitals hockey team. While he stated to detectives that he sold steroids to professional athletes on those teams, he did not mention any specific players' names."

ANY drug use, or just performance enhancing drugs? I've talked to a few former NHLers re coke and the league in the 80s. It wasn't exactly limited to Probie and Klima.

It is possible to reach that level of physical fitness without steroids. It just takes much more work.

Am I the only person who ever noticed Gretzky's considerable increase in size and strength over his career?

Gretzky at 24 (1985-86):

Gretzky at 33 (1993-94):

If it's so easy to look at the change in the size of a guy like Mark McGwire and say "duh, he's juicing", where is the question regarding a guy like Gretzky?
