My local NBC affiliate, WITN, is showing the Children's Miracle Network Telethon instead of game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals!!

Last year they did this during Game 5!! They have also interrupted the playoff games for hours at a time to show weather alerts in the area.

Thought I would vent and let everyone in hockey areas what you could be dealing with.......

I had to deal with the same thing for game 5 last year, and the same thing for tihs game in the New Orleans area for the exact same cause/pledges. Very frustrating but it is what it is unfortunately. I watched game 5 last year in Baton Rouge about an hour away. Either going to do that again or drive to Biloxi/Southern Mississippi or just watch it online if available.

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!ONEMILLIONONEHUNDREDELEVENTHOUSANDONEHUNDREDELEVEN!!!!!

Fargo is doing the same thing! They did this to me in 2007. I was all relieved when I saw the dates this year because I thought that the finals were starting next weekend.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I need to make alternate arrangements.
Sunnovabiscuit. I got cable just so I'd have NBC.

I'm going off to fume now.

My money on the board pledge:

$1 for each goal scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.

An additional $5 for each hat trick scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.

An additional $10 if any of the above goals is the GWG goal that gives us the series win.

An additional $50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.

$5 for a SO by Jimmy.

Hamsters' names (current players in RED):  Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik

                                                                      Niklas Matthieu Daniel Robert

                                                                      Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan

                                                                      Andrew Patrick Ian Todd

And introducing:  Jordin Damien Gustav James

TOTAL SO FAR: $27

It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

"They are the best team in the world. They are a team that can just take over when they want to," Chicago's Patrick Kane said (of the Detroit Red Wings).

I've got DIRECTV.....the local affiliate for NBC has a 24/7 weather channel available for digital cable subscribers. They did the telethon last year and put Game 5 on the alternate weather channle, but have no plans for doing this again this year.

Does anyone know if DIRECTV will move the game to a different channel since its not available through the local NBC channel??
