s*** happens. A bad no call for sure, but it was early in the game and no real damage came directly from it. The breaks will probably even out through the course of the series.

as a wings fan, you shouldnt be mad about the ericsson penalty. you should be mad that we NEVER pressure the point on the penalty kill!!! we give them all the time in the world and we never get the puck out of the zone because our wingers are so deep. it pisses me off like no other!

and what was with pulling ozzie on a dump in? arent we supposed to wait until we have possession in the offensive zone?

if we play for 60 minutes we will win regardless of how the calls go.

"Speared"? Uhhhh.... not really. Osgood did a nice job of dramatizing that... and also, was the puck really in control there? Kind of a quick whistle as it was going into the net, you ask me.

But sticking to tonight -- it's funny, for as blatant a pick that Detroit set on the PP goal, not a single Wings fan mentions it. I on the other hand at least mentioned the Pens getting away with too many men, before they yanked that post. But again, over here the Wings never commit a single penalty. And must have the sound off too when they watch games, because the announcers discussed the illegal pick for a good 30 seconds. Yet not a peep about it over here. C'mon, it was a pick and you know it.

Since the NHL's officiating is so crappy, we have been on the end of some of the worst calls/non-calls that I can remember, just as other teams have. I think each series we have played so far has been defined by a memorable controversial call (except the too many men against the bjs in game 4 was actually correct). But I think this can be a good thing because the Wings seem to respond to this really well.

Round 2-Game 3: Hossa tying goal waived off

Round 2-Game 4: Wings destroy the Ducks

Round 3-Game 3: Kronwall game misconduct plus major for a legal and clean hit/Havlat apparently okay enough to play in the next game

Round 3-Game 4: Wings destroy Blackhawks.

Round 4-Game 3: Terrible too many men non-call and questionable penalty on Ericsson leading to game winner

Round 4-Game 4: ???

The Wings have shown that they get pissed off with these terrible calls and show it in the next game. So maybe we needed this to piss them off some more since they didn't look pissed enough for my liking in the first 2 games.

NOTE: This isn't supposed to be complaining about the refs. It is supposed to be showing why it's not so bad that they suck all the time.

The pick could have been called and had a I been a ref, I probably would have called it. But it wasn't; I doubt it really would have changed the outcome of the game. That is a SUBJECTIVE call. Too many men is not subjective; it is either too many men or not too many men.

Everyone is sick and tired of your pick bulls***. EVERY ******* TEAM IN THE NHL DOES IT. Get over it. If you want it called, then be prepared for 50 penalties a game in every single NHL game from here on out. it's part of the game, every team does it, yes including the Pens and it's not going away. Everyone is quick to call out when they feel they've been screwed... but Detroit has gotten beneficial calls as well. They get lost in the victories usually.

Hopefully the Wings pull it together and bring a knock out game on Thursday.

Are these the same announcers that say when Detroit hits a post that it's good positioning by MAF but when the Pens hit the post it's lucky for Detroit? Those announcers? Again, every team sets picks in games, so get over your stupid self.

I'll buy the blown too many men call, but Ericsson clearly interfered with the Pens player. Wings could have killed the penalty to keep the game tied, but no. It's the teams fault they lost.

Pittsburgh did a good job clogging up the lanes, so we had to go back out to the point. I do agree with you though. We need more bodies in front of the net.

No, I'm talking about tonight. The Detroit player picked the Penguins defender on the PP, allowing the Wings shooter a wide open look at the net. Same thing Samuellson did to Malkin on Detroit's first goal Sunday Night.

I already talked about Dupuis's stick and how I didn't think Hossa did that on purpose.

The side I'm on is objectivity. Which leaves me pretty much by myself here.

You've been watching too much basketball. Hockey is a physical sport and should be called as such.

Of course, the Wings won both those games, which I'm sure (cough) is just a coincidence.
