Gonchar on the PP, he scares me more than lidstrom in the same position to be perfectly honest.

Probably Melkan or whatever his name is... But he's pretty good at disappearing too...

Really, there isn't one player on the Peguins team that really scares me. I think Detroit has the answer for all their players.

What scares me most is Refs letting a 25 second 6-on-5 go and then calling a weak call against us in the 3rd. Letting Gill and Oprik get away with murder and making weak calls to allow Pens to get a win... That's pretty much what scares me the most...

Nice attempt at trying to show the mods you're not here to threads***.

Too bad I don't think it'll work.

It's been dealt with.

We want fans of all teams to post here, but those that breaks the rules and purposefully troll and flame-bait will have an extremely short leash.

I like you Mindfly, I really do, but I'm afraid you might have a drinking problem :(

Seriously- Lidstrom's superior on the PP, Gonchar's only really 'advantage' over Lidstrom is his 5 on 5 scoring, although the difference can be chalked up to defensive responsibility.

Obviously, the "sexy" choices are Crosby and Malkin, but I have to agree that Gonchar on the PP point makes me nervous as hell. It's no different than the bombs Pronger unleashed on Dom that killed us in the 06/07 playoff run. Yes, the Wings' blueline was beyond banged up but that guy picked his spots so well and executed. Gonchar (while no where near the talent level of Lidstrom on defense) has a knack for the net. It's no wonder people call him an offenseman playing defense because while his defense leaves a lot to be desired, he's always a threat when the Penguins are sustaining pressure in the O-zone.

Crosby doesn't worry me as much because I know Z can shut him down. The same goes for Pav on Malkin.

Drake_Marcus, I just don't think lidstrom is as effective anymore and it'a a bit due to age of course but that injured elbow is probably a bigger problem than people might think.

If I could wave a magic wand and get him off the ice I would obviously. Which Penguin scares you the most. Interested in hearing serious responses.

Malkin, hands down. Crosby is nothing compared to that guy. He's big, strong, skates well, hits, has great hands. Malkin is the total package on the Pens squad. If there's a fault to him, it is that he's not as defensively minded as Datsyuk. Were he that... he'd be more of a terror than he is now.

I respect Guren, Fluery, Satan, and Gonchar, but Malkin is the best thing the Pens have.

Crosby, not so much.

If you eliminate all other areas of play and *just focus on QB'ing the PP*, Gonchar is very good.

Yea kind of like they let Hossa get away with breaking Dupuis stick in the 2nd period in game 2 on Sunday, and Samuellson interfering with Malkin before the Ericsson goal on the faceoff that tied the game at 1 as well in the 2nd period in Game 2. It's not like Detroit didnt have chances to take the lead in the game on Tuesday night. They totally dominated the 2nd period and got a power play chance late in the 2nd period as well. The bottom line is the Wings had numerous chances and they didnt get it done...

The Penguins out hit the Wings by 19 in Game 3 and Fleury made more key saves then Osgood. How about pointing to that as a reason to why the Penguins won game 3 instead of blaming the refs for calling interference on Ericsson which by the way was a legit call seeing that Cooke didnt have the puck and Ericsson blatantly grabbed on to him to make sure he didnt get the puck. Let Babcock keep whining about the Pens getting the one power play in the 3rd and the Wings not getting it like he did after the game on Tuesday. God forbid Babcock ever admits while he sips his water bottle 50,000 times during a press conference that the other team actually played better then the Wings and won without having an excuse...

Yeah, he's like Mike Green, except about 15 years older and with less backchecking.

Hossa would have been my answer last year, but this year it's Yevgenny.

Crosby or Gonchar. Probably Gonchar. You remember their record in the season before him? Crosby and Malkin have serious skills, but you've gotta have a slick puck moving d-man on the back end for those sorts of players as well.. Gonch quite frankly is one of the best. As a vet, he's also the stabilizing presence.. he's the anchor for that team.

Fleury. I think we'd do pretty well if we had an open net to shoot at.

Real answer: Crosby. Crosby is a better all-around player than Malkin. If there was no Crosby, Zetterberg could focus on shutting Malkin down and Pittsburgh would have no offense whatsoever.
