j.hoop 64 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 Greater than 1 in 4??? What were people saying chances of America defeating Britain in the Revolutinary War. I'll take my chances. Off topic- Susan Boyle is in bad shape- let's keep her in our thought regardless of our loyalties. wtf?
Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 You guys actually think a rusty Datsyuk, broken foot and all will actually be able to keep up with Malkin or Crosby! You gotta be freakin kidding me. He'll be lucky to play 10 minutes before Orpik destroys him and the pain shot wears off. Posterity's a *****, squid boy.

T.OWingsFan 7 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 Against a weaker team perhaps Staal's goal could have been a series turning point. But this Detroit team while it may not be the physically strongest in the league sure is the most MENTALLY STRONG one. That said I firmly believe we're gonna have to pummel them into the ground to win the Cup in 6, unlike last year. They won't go away in their barn 2 years in a row quietly but IMO the Wings just did a number on them tonight which may have broken their backs.

liloz 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) My son who's not really a rabid Wing fan like his mom came up with a Facebook thing, called "Penguins taste like chicken". I fervently hope the Wings come back with a vengeance and fricasee their asses. Feathers and all. :deal: I hope well done was how you ordered that bird.....AS YOU REQUESTED.....feathers and all.... He'll be lucky to play 10 minutes before Orpik destroys him and the pain shot wears off. The emotional boost the Wings get will be huge none the less. If the Pens survive the the first period they will roll. FAIL, EPIC FAIL, KING KAMAYHAMAYHA FAIL, BERNIE MADDOFF FAIL, POLAND IN '39 FAIL, PENGOS IN '08 FAIL! As a prognosticator you make a fantastic assistant swing-shift night manager at a Taco Bell. Unhappy Pengos fans made life warm and happy!
Hocketownwest 11 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 Good games Wings- you deserved this win. You got away with some interference and clutching that could have been called but not as much as many Pens fans are crying about tonight. You can't win in Pittsburgh. Of course you think we can't win in Detroit. Gamy 7 that all changes. Best of luck Clutching like this? Which by the way wasn't called.
maltbymaniac 13 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 I loved the chant at the Joe tonight: "CROSBY SUCKS" - "CROSBY SUCKS" - "CROSBY SUCKS". What a classless player. I hate Bettman for choosing this clown to promote hockey... He makes NHL look like a ***** sport! oh man that was a thing of beauty. "CROSBY SUCKS" LMFAO
Pavrik Zettersyuk 4 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 I hate when people call the series. Especially if it's called by a fan of one of the teams involved. People said Wings after being up 2 - 0, then they say Pens after coming back in a dominant fassion at home. Well, it's always the next game that swings things, you don't know how many 'turning points' there's gonna be until a team wins 4 games.

If the Pens survive the the first period they will roll. The answer to your question is yes! The only thing I saw that that Penguins excelled at last night was over confidence. Datsyuk showed everybody on National TV why he is arguably the best player in the NHL. He is the NHL's benchmark for what complete two way player should be. On an off note: Dats and Malkin and Ovechkin on a line together would be something to see.
Dyslexic Dog 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 Long time lurker, 1st time posting. Looonnng time hockey fan and player. Went to the game last night with my daughter for a Father's Days gift. First, I was surprised by all of the Pitts fans. (almost everyone had a Crybaby C jersey.) Hossa has to be hurt. He has poor wrist movement. Dats showed little signs of being hurt, even his speed getting back. Chelli was the last to leave the ice after warmups and noone gave a shout-out to him. I think that it might have been the last time we see him on the ice as a player in the Joe. Sad. Great game and it was not as lopsided as people think. The first period was more Pitts. Goaltending is what was the difference. Oh, and Crosby sucks. He should study game tapes of Stevie Y and learn from the best.

C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 I can't wait to see hossa skating around YOUR HOME ICE with the cup in hands showing it off.. Goaltending is what was the difference. Oh, and Crosby sucks. He should study game tapes of Stevie Y and learn from the best. I don't think that he sucks, but I completely agree that he should start modeling his game after Yzerman. When Crosby isn't scoring, he is relatively useless. He needs to start sacrificing some points and focus on developing his play in his own zone. He has all the physical ability in the world and he obviously has the desire to win. I mean, guys like Zetterberg or Yzerman could be shut out of the scoresheet, but still have a significant impact on the game. He also needs to realize that he is the captain of an NHL team. Start acting like it. Two-handed slashes to player's knees out of frustration, jumping a guy off-guard at the faceoff circle, and continuous whining to the officials is not captain-like behavior. I'm not a Crosby hater at all. I think he's a really good player, but he needs to develop his two-way play and start acting like a captain and a leader before I'll consider him a great player. BewareThePenguin 1 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 so did Fedotenko pop up in your head tonight? Yes, I know, yuk yuk. My bigger laugh, though, comes from the suggestion I'd be in hiding after this one, that someone put up. Better question: how many of you (who came running here to post after the game) would be posting in this thread after about, oh, 10:30 last night, if the Pens had won? I doubt any of you. BewareThePenguin 1 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) If that were to happen, it'd be my wallpaper until the end of days, regardless of what happens with Hossa or anything. Would you really be cheering Hossa -- you really have that much admiration for the guy -- who's contributed, uh exactly what to the championship run? Even if the Wings win, what Pens fans say about Hossa would be true: he simply boarded the bus, put his feet up, and told Zetterberg and Osgood to do the driving. Have to chuckle a little, as it was just a couple days ago that Detroit fans were screaming about the NOTHING that this freeloader was contributing. And calling for a dumping of his sorry non-producing butt. (See: re-sign Hossa thread.) A Cup hoist like that by Hossa would be a victory for welfare collectors, free-government-cheese recipients, and false insurance-claim payees everywhere. Hossa = Hockey Socialism.
