"Attacking" Wings fans for simply quoting what they said? Hmmm. I don't think so. Merely pointing out that they're kind of agreeing with what some of us have been saying about Hossa. The rest is you reading in what you want to.

Now, calling someone "sh*t for brains" and some of the other choice "classy" words you, the classy Wings fan is using above, now I'd say that constitutes an attack.

I'll say this one more time -- I read about 100 posts moaning about the lack of class shown by the Pens and their fans -- I don't think anyone has the right to talk when you all let that "momma" slur slide by (I can imagine some of you even got a chuckle from it, 'long as it came from one of your own). Bottom line: make sure your own house is clean before you rag on your neighbor's dirt.

You really are up in arms about a "momma" comment. One comment that I haven't even seen yet to know the context and to what extent the attack was made.

And regarding your analogy: It is one thing for you to comment on your neighbor's dirt, but it is another thing entirely for you to come to your neighbor's house and tell them their dirt sucks.

Every fanbase has its idiots, but that doesn't give you permission to make stupid statements like the one that I quoted. It was stupid, and just because someone said "felt up someones mom" doesn't make it any less stupid.

There's a difference between my actual hockey-related funny, and some punk's attack on a mother -- if you can't see that, you're in serious need of help.

Sorry that's just how I see things.

First of all. Grow some balls. We don't know your mom, I'm sure she's a nice lady. As for me calling you "s*** for brains," well, I call it like I see it.

Second, I never said I was classy. So don't generalize something that other people have posted and use it against me. I do know that our players and organization are classy, and that's all that matters to me.

Third, it's ironic that you would come over here and post about Osgood having a meltdown when it looks like your own goalie is melting down himself. Talk about having a clean house. Now your posting other nonsense, including Staal's shorthanded goal being a goal that grabbed the series for you. Sorry, but in real life I would have called you an idiot too.

I wonder what would be said about crosby if he signed with a different team? Get over it, Hossa didnt like being a penguin. he has no loyalties to their organization. he was a trade deadline acquisition. the pens took a gamble trading for hossa because he was a free agent and he could have walked away...which he did. and its the same thing when wings fans boo fedorov. he chose to leave for whatever reason and that is his right. hossa took you guys to finals appearance, and he gave you a lot to cheer about. he decided for whatever reason that he didnt want to play in pittsburgh so he left. all the comments about his lack of production are completely off base. Anyone with hockey smarts could see that hossa is still a force and he still contributes tremendously to our success this playoff run.

P.S. No one likes you here. No one takes anything you say seriously, and nearly all of your predictions have been wrong. Why not just go post on a Penguins board and save yourself the trouble of arguing with some of the biggest fans of what is unarguably the best team in Hockey.

It's a shame you don't realize the treasure you have here. An opposing fan, with a point of view, who comes to debate hockey and the series in an aggressive but serious way. Unlike the other two types of fans you see, a) the "You Guys Suck We Rule!" variety, and b) the butt-kisser, who comes to only say great game guys, you're soooo wonderful your team is!!! Smooch smooch!!! Oh your team is so great I bow before you!!!!

Both are equally useless.

I actually present viewpoints that stimulate debate -- I rarely say anything I don't back up with examples or stats of what I'm talking about. You can disagree of course, but isn't that the whole point of a "discussion board"? Nor do I run and hide after my team loses, like your typical hit-and-run board punk. I'm here taking my lumps, with good humor -- provided it's hockey related, not some stupid personal ad hoc attack.

As for staying on some Pens' board, why would I want to hang out where there are 100 guys with the same basic point of view? Bor-ing! And the fact that your team is the current gold standard in hockey, as you're so eager to point out, is all the more reason for me to be here.

Say what you want about me, I've never started anything that wasn't hockey related, and never resorted to personal attacks on anyone. Which is more than I can say for a lot of posters here.

The word "troll" is way overused, by a lot of people who don't get what it really means.

I'll be gone soon enough, I'm sure. Then you can all go back to your mutual admiration society, where you'll share the same ideas, agree with each other 100 percent, and life will be the Eternal Sunlight of the Spotlessly Happy Mind.

Sounds pretty dull, you ask me.

Again, I posted the thread in the form of a question, as in IS HE? having a meltdown. I never said he WAS -- and that possibility was based on the facts that a) he had let in some pretty soft goals, pretty uncharacteristically, and b) had a weird altercation with a member of the ice crew. That seemed like some strange behavior to me. I posted an opinion, and again, I ASKED if he was having a bit of a mental lapse -- I never claimed he was, 100 percent positive.

Is that really so hard to understand?

And again, that was an actual hockey-related comment.

And Fleury is besides the point, the topic was Osgood. Besides, Fleury's meltdown came three games AFTER I started the thread.

Also for the Staal thing -- what part of "that's just a feeling" don't you understand? I didn't say "oh now the series is over, I just know it." I said Staal's turnaround goal gave me a certain feeling the Pens might be turning the tide. That and $4.50 will get me a coffee at Starbuck's. What's your big gloat here, people?

BTP, if you think this is a mutual appreciation society, you have missed the threads about Ozzie, Hossa, Hudler, Samuelson, Rafalski, Federov etc etc etc. There is a wide range of opinion here.

I don't know if you are a troll or not. But you can not deny your overwhelming negative tone towards the Red Wings. In fairness, we don't dislike you because you are a Pens fan. Ask mindfly.

Regarding the ridiculous "welfare" comments that litter this inane thread, here are the facts.

Hossa:

1st on team with 40 regular season goals

1st on team with 20 playoff takeaways

3rd on team with 53 playoff hits

4th on team with 6 playoff goals

T4th on team with 15 playoff points

That sounds like a player that is contributing at a high level on a team filled with stars, as opposed to someone that is sitting on the bench and coasting to a championship.

You can keep using your hilarious "welfare" and "socialism" digs. Just understand that when you say it you are incorrect.

Wait wait wait. You guys make a "your mother" comment and start taking personal jabs at him and then tell him to "get over it"?

(Insert facepalm here.)

You can disagree with his Hossa argument or any other arguments he makes, but you can do it in a polite and respectful manner. That's all anybody is really asking for. However, taking jabs at him like that and then acting like he's performing a monumental travesty when he points it out and calls it disrespectful... that just doesn't make any sense.

Wrong.

You guys bang on Crosby for what he hasn't done in one series -- but Hossa's awesome because of what he's done this regular season. Pardon me if I chuckle a bit here.

^^

You're entertaining - stick around. At least you have the cajones to come in here after your team loses and post.

Gee, thanks chum. Just as about 100 percent of you wouldn't have had the "cajones" to be posting on this thread if the Pens had won last night -- which is even more entertaining.

This thread would've been like crickets chirping had the score been otherwise.

How many points do Crosby and Malkin have in this series compared to the 3 previous they played?

Ragging on Crosby for this series I can understand, but if you're calling out Malkin, you haven't been watching too closely. He's been the Pens' MVP the last few games, by far.

I haven't said a single word about Crosby. Not one.

You can try to mangle my words to make your point, but take the regular season goals out of the equation and look at the list:

1st on team with 20 playoff takeaways

3rd on team with 53 playoff hits

4th on team with 6 playoff goals

T4th on team with 15 playoff points

Explain to me how that is not contributing at a high level.

Or, instead of defending what you say, you can just try to skew what *I* am saying.

Please answer the question...

How many points do Malkin and Crosby have this series compared to the previous 3?

Malkin in the leading scorer in the Finals. I like Malkin. If he could channel his emotions and use them to elevate his game, he could be nearly unstoppable.

the difference is we dont need hossa to get 30+ points in the playoffs. if hossa doesnt perform well, we still have a great chance of winning. remember, we did win the cup last year with hossa on the other side. the difference between the wings and the penguins is we can split 4 games with our hart candidate out, but you guys wouldve been swept with yours out. we finished off a very young, fast, and talented team without 2 of top 6 defensemen for 2 games, and without 3 of top 7 for the clinching game. we beat anaheim without hossa, datsyuk, and holmstrom contributing offensively. When guys like hossa, datsyuk, and zetterberg cant find the twine, guys like cleary, abdelkader, and filppula are scoring goals. if crosby and malkin dont produce, chances are the penguins lose. just like games 1,2 and 5. and the stanley cup finals last year (which wouldve ended before game 6 without Hossa.)

You still did not answer the question... So here goes... Guess Pen's fans do not like pointing out the obvious...

Malkin has 7 points in 5 games in the SCF...

Malkin had 28 points in the previous 3 playoff rounds...

Crosby has 3 points in 5 games in the SCF...

Crosby had 28 points in the previous 3 playoff rounds...

Seems to me they are slowing down a bit....
