Datsyuk will play, Cleary "Questionable"

wouldn't Ericsson be playing with lidstrom if rafalski wasnt going to play? Chelios and Lidstrom? i doubt it.

I had exactly the same thought. Raffy must be resting and Cheli is holding his spot in practice. I won't worry until game time.

Beat me to posting it but here is the article in case you don't want to use the link:

Update from Saturday's morning skate: Dan Cleary, Brian Rafalski and Justin Abdelkader aren't skating. Rafalski also didn't practice on Wednesday but played on Thursday. Pavel Datsyuk is skating on a line with Henrik Zetterberg.

Here's the lines they're using:

Franzen-Zetterberg-Datsyuk

Holmstrom-Filppula-Hossa

Hudler-Helm-Samuelsson

Leino-Draper-Maltby

Lidstrom-Chelios (for Rafalski)

Kronwall-Stuart

Ericsson-Lebda

Lilja-Meech (scratches)

Hank, Pavs and Mule?

Talk about a power line.

Actually, that's the line that gave the mule the confidence to become the player he is now from when Holmer was injured last season. I'd love to see it work out again.

Kind of strange that Hank and Pav are skating together. I think everyone assumed that if pavs was playing than him and Z would split up to shut down Crosby and Malkin.

Malkin hasn't been that much of a threat 5-on-5.

The article has been updated:

Rafi will play, Cleary questionable with "lower-body" injury.

Also, Pasha will play with Hossa and Flip.

"If Cleary plays, this is a guess as to what the lines might look like:

Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary

Datsyuk-Filppula-Hossa

Hudler-Helm-Samuelsson

Holmstrom-Draper-Maltby"

That just sucked the life right out of me. Cleary is one of our best clutch player and shut-down guys. If he is out, that is no good...

I'm happy that Datsyuk is playing, but this Cleary news really stings.

This better be true seeing what happened last time. The other day I was listening to 97.1 when they confirmed he would play. I then went to work and dealt with bitchy whiny customers all day, but with a smile on my face because Pavel was coming back. I got off at 8 and turned on the radio in my car to find out he actually wasn't playing. That was lame.
