mmorland 16 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) from LGW writer Mike Morland: With Game 6 just hours away, you can't help but feel that buzz around metro Detroit. If you've gone into a store, gas station, or work today, you haven't been able to escape without seeing or hearing something Red Wings. There's something about the day of a potential cup clincher that seems to have people antsy in anticipation. With the NHL, NBC and CBC all having a hand in shutting out Joe Vision tonight, I was wondering where people plan to be tonight? Are you staying in, going out? Where are the best spots in the Detroit area to take in tonight's Game 6 action? Where they can get you get the most bang for your buck? Your thoughts, suggestions? mmorland 16 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Some of the hot spots in Detroit tonight will be the Hockeytown Cafe and Cheli's Chili. Bettman can try to keep Wings fans out of the Joe but can't keep them all out of the city!

No Offense to anyone at the Hockeytown cafe, or cheli's....but if you are a Detroiter, than you have to go to Nemo's. it is Detroit's oldest bar.....near the old tiger stadium... i mean...c'mon, Hoffa pulled a hit there in the 70's. It is history.

mmorland 16 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 A few other great spots in the Dearborn area - the original Cheli's Chili, Bailey's and Buddy's, all on Michigan Ave. on Dearborn's west side.

I can't deal with all the bandwagon fans in the bars.
