First off, let me say that I am a Wings fan.

At the same time, I am also a hockey fan. I love the sport of hockey. I play rec league 3 times a week, I watch the NHL Center Ice package, and I go to many minor league hockey games through the course of the year. Hockey is the greatest sport on the face of the planet, and I couldn't be happier watching the greatest players in the world playing in the NHL.

If the Pens do pull this off on Friday, I am going to be the first to give them huge props. Here is a team that spit in the eye of every stat out there. When the media said they weren't coming back from a 2-0 deficit, they kept working.

41 of 44 teams that win the first 2 games go on to win the series? Bah! The Pens can do it!

Over 80% of teams that win game 5 when the series is tied 2-2 win the series? What hooey! The Pens can do it!

12 of 14 game 7s in the Finals have went to the home team? Not today boys! The Pens can do it!

They won every game at Mellon Arena. The Wings played lazy in game 4 and game 6, especially game 6. Talk about a chance to close out a team and you play lazy for 40 minutes. If the Wings piss this opportunity away they have no one to blame but themselves.

In the end, if the Pens win game 7, I am going to congratulate them. I will watch the celebration and as a hockey fan I am going to be happy for them. They deserved it. While the masses here on this forum and other Wings fans that I know will be calling out conspiracy theories and bad reffing, they will be avoiding where the real blame should be put.

On the Wings themselves.

The Wings fans will realize that their team had their shot and failed because of lazy uninspired play about 3-4 months later when the new season starts up. It will be a summer of blame pointed at every other figure and thats just not right.

So if the Pens do pull this off, give them the props they deserve. They bucked the odds and did what they needed to do to take the series. The least you could do is give them a little respect.

I think I'll wait to see who wins game 7 before I fall all over myself praising them. Still a game to be played, and the Pens don't have any hardware yet.

It is ridiculous to assert Pens have "no chance" of winning Cup. You could say they only have a 25-35% chance but NO chance? One bad bounce could be all it takes and we're due for some bounces after our rotten luck in games 1 and 2.

You got your bounces with Scuderi making two saves in the crease yesterday. You got your luck when Osgood flubbed Kennedy's goal. As a matter or fact, you've had more nounces than us. That being said, I am begining to believe these conspiracy theories about teams throwing games. Look at game 5 (for PIt) and then game 6 (for us.) Whatever, I am just as frustrated as the Pens fans were Saturday night. Of course Pit has a chance buddy, 50-50 is what I am looking at, but so does Detroit, and it is perceived we have the advantage being at home...

to the OP, I for one will not give congrats to Pitt, I hate all teams that aren't Detroit, so why would I? What was Hossa's deal yesterday?

I agree, no props if they win, but replay showed clearly that he DIDN'T put his hand on the puck. He tried, but the puck got under MAF's glove when he saved the puck with his skate (in the right place at the right time.) Everyone and their brother thought he did, pens fans were holding their breath! It looked like he did, he did reach for it, but MAF got it first. Dead Issue.

I am pissed, Wings got two back to back PP's and failed miserbly on both. Cleary decided he'd rather be Datsyuk than himself an try to deke the goalie instead of doing what has gotten him two breakaway goals already, SHOOT!

Wings had their chances, I can only say they threw the game in order for the NHL to have their 7 games... (maybe Pit threw game 5 as well?)

While the are the best team in hockey, playing on home ice, and for the most important trophy in all of sports you are correct. I'll give the Pens a roughly 1 in 40 chance of coming out on top, but I can't get any more honest than that, and as for lucky bounces didn't you notice the two or three lucky ones the Pens got today. Why would you think they are due any more?

I am friends with some Pens fans, and I know even more people who would like to see them lose, but Friday isn't the day.
