And the Penguins are playing for the Stanley Cup!

That feels good to say.

First, props to your team for another nail-biter. Has anyone ever seen a defenseman make three saves in a row, first with his stick, then his shin, then his skate? Whoa!

What a treat it is to see two awesome teams go at it in a Game 7 for the Cup. Like I said, I felt this time it would be different, and can anyone now argue otherwise? This is why I said in my original post I wouldn't have it any other way, against any other team in the finals. I knew it had the potential to be this good.

Even if you don't care for the Pens, you have to give them credit. They easily could've folded after Saturday Night's disaster. Instead they buckled down and roared back to grit out a tough win. That goes double for MAF. (By the way, you weren't one of those rather overconfident fans leaving the Joe Saturday Night, telling the Pens fans in attendance "see you next year" were you?)

Marian Hossa is about to become either the smartest man in hockey, or its biggest moron. Again, one game decides it all.

To say the least, you've done a fine job shutting down Crosby. Is this the game he finally breaks out, in the biggest tilt of all?

Just another of the amazing storylines going into Friday Night.

I'll enjoy this for one more day, then into Game 7 mode.

One team showed up for 60 minutes (the Pens) and played with a ton of heart.

One team showed up with a s*** load of heart for the last 10 minutes.

If Detroit comes out in game 7 like they did last night, series over Pens win on the road 4-1!

Detroit can not come out that flat in a SC clinching game, just can not do it.

The Pens are amped up, Scuderi, I am not sure what to say except Scuderi! What on earth can you say about the way he and Orpik played last night, seriously anyone that can come up with words to describe the way they played I would love to learn new words!

Detroit needs to refocus and come out and match the Pens intensity.

Dats, Z, Flip, Hud, and Ozzie were the only wings I saw show up last night for the whole game.

And even then Dats look to coast a little.

SAMMY HAS TO RUN KENNEDY! On that second goal he has to put him through the glass, destroy him, not turn his head and try to sweep for the puck.

The team as a whole was flat and very very unimpressive, they looked like they just got whooped 5-0 not the other way around.

Oh well I called Wings in 7 from the start (no team losing at home) and I have faith the boys will reload for game 7 at home and the Joe crowd will get them going!

Posts like this are extremely ignorant. There is no way of knowing if Hossa had stayed with Pittsburgh if the Pens or the Wings would even be playing in the Finals. Getting Hossa would have put the Pens in cap trouble and they probably wouldn't have been able to acquire other players that have benefited them this season.

The Wings would have also had an extra 7.45 mil to work with for this season so maybe they would have added more pieces and been even better than they are now.

Please, save yourself the trouble and don't bother using reason with this poster regarding Marian Hossa.

Marian Hossa is about to become either the smartest man in hockey, or its biggest moron. Again, one game decides it all.

His decision to come to Detroit has obviously already been proven to be a good one. Getting within one win of the cup? Yeah, he was a moron for thinking the Wings had a better chance of winning the cup than the Pens.. even if the Pens end up winning, you can't say he made a bad decision.

He couldn't know that Therrien would be fired mid-season and that they would make several deadline-moves to completely turn around a team that was on it's way to missing the playoffs. Those things might not even have happened if Hossa had stayed.

If the Wings had missed the playoffs, or had an early exit, then he would have been regarded as a moron.

Now he's just a guy that knew what he was doing, and either succeeded in his attempt to win the cup or came very, very close.

The Wings got 2 chances to win the cup. They failed on the first attempt, but still has one left. The Pens got 1 chance to win the cup. Now, doesn't that mean the Wings got a better chance of winning the cup?

What -- you don't think losing the Cup in the finals to the team he dumped "so he could win a championship" wouldn't make him look just a wee bit foolish? Sorry, I beg to differ here.

Shhhh. Penguins fans don't base their thoughts on logic. As been proven time and time again. Your post will probably be ignored by the Penguins' fans.

Foolish? Last year he was 2 wins away from a Cup, this year he is 1 win away. It's been a better result already.

Also, if you're going to quote someones reply, reference at least ONE point they make in your arguement.

Well OK, pardner... first of all, "last year" he hadn't left his old team to "go win a Championship" with another squad. Secondly, "1 win away" is the same as 10... if you don't go on to win it all. What's the diff?

Or did I hear him say "I'm going to Detroit to get 1 win away from winning the Cup! Yeah that's been my goal all along!"

Again -- Hossa will look the fool if the Pens raise the Cup without him. He'll look smart if his guys do -- traitorous, but smart.

Okay, I'll give you that. He "will look foolish if the Pens raise the cup without him", to a retard or anyone that knows nothing about the game.

But what the lgw'er's are trying to say to you is; there are no guarantees that Pens would even make it to the 2 round if they had Hossa, and there are no guarantees that Detroit would make it to the 2nd round without Hossa. It's not that hard to understand, really. Use your brain.

Seriously, this bulls*** again? This was a fine post until that line.

Perfect example of a real traitor? When Fedorov spurned the Red Wings - the team that arranged his defection from the Soviet Union, treated him like a rock star, matched Carolina's ridiculous offer-sheet to keep him around, and basically became his second home for over 10 years - for the Mighty Ducks because he wanted to be the man somewhere else instead of playing in Steve Yzerman's shadow.

NOT a player who was traded to your team at the trade deadline and an upcoming free agent that summer. Marian Hossa has next to zero real history with Pittsburgh. That would be the same as us calling Wendel Clark and Todd Bertuzzi "traitors" because they didn't re-sign with Detroit after being traded here at the deadline. Simply put, Hossa was a rental. He wasn't part of your team for 10 plus years. Pittsburgh didn't even draft him. And as other posters have said, if Hossa had re-signed with the Pens, there's no telling where their cap situation would be right now. Enough crying over Hossa being a "traitor" for not re-signing with the team he played on for less than four months.

The Pens won last night a simple way. I don't know how anyone is surprised we've seen it in Detroit the past 10-12 years. They took the body when they had to, they played puck possession, they played their matchups, they gave up the body to block shots, and their defense helped out their goalie. Any of that sound familiar? Of course it does because it's the Wings playbook for the past decade.

Penguins better get their head out of their ass and play for the cup. This could be their last chance for many-many more years. They are going to have some major cap issues. I understand that they are losing some key players this summer.

This might be Penguins last chance.

Wow... I wonder how Pittsburgh will view Malkin or Staal if they end up leaving. If Hossa is a traitor, those guys will shot on sight if they even say the word "Pittsburgh".

Hossa never said he was staying in Pittsburgh; he never signed a document and then backed out of it; he never said Pittsburgh didn't have a chance to win the Cup. At the time of his decision, the Pens coach was a worthless bag of s*** that NO ONE wanted to play for. If the Penguins had made the coaching change after the Finals, I'm pretty sure Hossa would have stayed.

It's not like he Brett Favre'd the situation. He was traded to the Penguins and played a 1/3 of a regular season with them. My guess you are just upset that the Penguins Hossa jersey you have is no longer worth anything.

- I'm not your "pardner". f*** off.

- My point, which you have ignored, is that he's already had more success in Detroit. If you don't know the difference between 1 win away and 10 wins away, why don't you ask the other 14 teams in this years playoffs.

Could probably count on Pits not making it this far if Hossa stayed. Like so many have posted before, cap room. That's all.

Sour Grapes.

Ya know, Hossa might have stayed in Pittsburgh if the Pens Org got rid of that dip-s*** coach sooner.

Still, sour grapes that Pens fans can't let go of the fact that Hossa left their "god's gift to hockey" club.
