I'm thinking if it's tied and they score with a couple of minutes left, or it goes to OT and they score tv gets shut down within 2secs, i'll avoid all kinds of media coverage, ignore the sports papers and news, get very drunk and just imagine and try telling yourself it never happend, maybe go on a 2week vacation, then in august/september you are back, and it feels like they never won, watch the nhl-premiere on the 2nd of october, and hopefully the sports coverage is done about penguins championship and crosby all over the websites and focus on the upcoming season..

Sounds like a good plan eh? Anyone thought about doing something similar, Who could ever watch their cup celebration in detroits arena, listen to all McGuire, Milbury brown-nosing crosby for hours, days, weeks after etc...

Sort of an escape plan IF it they were to win it...

I did similar to that when the Ducks won in '07... but my gut tells me we win on home ice tomorrow.

IF.. by some freak accident.. we lose? I'm already going on a week long camping trip a week from Saturday :P In which there will be a steady flow of alcohol. So, I'm pretty well set.

I am up north on friday so i will just continue my vacation going to Traverse City, Mackinac Island and Petosky this week... I will even wear my Wings t-shirt too and not feel bad about it :P

Maybe the Petosky Casino can bring me some luck after the game on Friday

Suicide seems pretty reasonable.

No, honestly, if we lose to the damn Penguins and Cindy, I'll avoid the papers and websites for a good week or so and just ignore the fact. I'll maybe watch my 2008 DVD and relive that lol. I don't think we'll lose either but damn that feeling sounds horrible

That's what I did with the French Open and Federer winning, except I didn't even watch and I didn't get drunk. :P I know he won but I don't even know the score such has been my avoidance.

If Pens win the TV will go off in record time. I'll be too shattered to watch for a second longer.

I'll run directly out the doors of the Joe, and sprint directly towards the Detroit River, hop the rail, and jump in...hoping that the current will take me far, far away from all of the Cindy Crosby media coverage that will happen after he and Uncle Gary share a kiss rather than a handshake before the Cup presentation...

But, luckily, I'm not going to have to do any of that, because the Wings are NOT losing on home ice...not this time.

GO WINGS! BRING IT BACK HOME BOYS!!

That is exactly what I've done all season. If the Wings lost, I immediately muted the sound, changed the channel and deleted the game from the recorder. Who the hell needs reminders about that? Certainly not moi.

And OSGOD: You are definitely in God's country so that should most certainly give you some perspective sooner than for most of us. KRYSTAL: - you too with your camping trip. :)

I'd still proudly wear my jersey around, and like others I certainly would turn it off as soon as the game ended and not watch the rest (i.e. lifting/parading-around of the cup, Conn Smythe, etc..)

But that's something I'm more akin to thinking about the time it occurs rather than now. I'm confident the Wings will win.

I would be extremely disappointed. I sure as hell don't want to hear "what happened to your Wings?" all summer. Especially with a Pens fan next door. He doesn't rub it in when they win, but he flies a stupid flag. If Pittsburgh wins, I might have to go steal that flag. I hate looking at that damn thing! And if you think the Crosby this and Crosby that thing in the media is bad now, oh my god, I don't even want to think about it!

One thing for sure, I will continue to wear my red and white with pride! Win or lose!

Your team will be gracious sporting gentlemen shaking hands, congratulating, and be good sports.....letting the other team know they appreciate the battle and the game. Why can't Wings fans do the same?

This would be the worse thing that could possibly happen. Aside, from wollowing all summer we will have to put up with the media. We could avoid it at first, during the summer. But when next season starts all we will hear about is Sidney Crosby and how he overcame adversity to win the cup. You think Crosby is over-marketed right now?

Agh...Thankfully the Wings will win.

Hey. Most reactions here are a helluva lot better than most of the crap that takes place in this world of ours. And often for no other reason than greed or "religion".

I'm sure. I just figured a true hockey fan wold be gracious and humbled and watch the cup ceremony no matter who won.
