Lidstrom's Real Injury

The one story I missed from the Wednesday hiatus of serious importance...Is painful to read. The Globe and Mail's Bruce Dowbiggin revealed the true nature of Nicklas Lidstrom's "lower body injury":

June 10, Globe and Mail: Inquiring minds wanted to know why Detroit's incomparable defenceman Nick Lidstrom missed the final two games of the Western Conference final between the Red Wings and Chicago. The media spoke only of the ubiquitous "lower-body" injury. And when Lidstrom appeared tired and mistake-prone in the Final against Pittsburgh, questions were raised again about his fitness to play. Was it an ankle? A knee? Under the NHL's Orwellian injury disclosure policy, a postal-code approximation of the hurt was all that was given to the media.

Actually, Lidstrom had a damaged ******** from being pitch-forked by Chicago's Patrick Sharp in Game 3 of the Western final. He needed all the time between the cheap shot and Game One of the final to rehab the injury. As Paul Harvey used to say, "Now you know the rest of the story".

While it's considerate to Lidstrom that such an . . . er, intimate injury be hushed up, the cover-up damages the league's credibility in several ways. First, we now have a better understanding that Lidstrom was not tired or old or ready for retirement-- as suggested by more than one announcer or reporter. Second, the cover-up denied the opportunity to expose Sharp's disrespectful abuse of one of the league's superstars - a necessary discussion in lieu of the league's willful denial on head shots.

Lol yeah I heard about that last week. Apparently his nut was knocked into the wrong spot or something. I can't remember what docs call it.

Probably a sports hernia.

My thoughts are with Nick Lidstrom's testicles.

You may think about them for the both of us. I'll just hope he plays well.

Wow! I didn't think Lidstrom had testicles.

They're not testicles in the traditional human sense in hockey. You see, they are actually a storage place for Win, something everyone on the Red Wings team has plenty of. Hell, Lidstrom has so much win he has trouble putting his cup and pants on. Rumor has it that Yzerman had to have his pants custom made to fit his Jupiter-sized testicles.

I'm not surprised that you don't know that, seeing as virtually no one on the Penguins have either testicles or any amount of Win, as well as you, Miss Prick.

Lovely hearing a snide remark like this coming from a fan of a team lead by Cindy, Ev-Jenny (yes that's the proper pronunciation,) and a man nicknamed "Flower." Also even if he changed his name to Max on the roster this year, Maxine his real name is a girl's name.

Meanwhile the only effeminate name on the Wings roster is Marian who played for your team last year and largely left because your coach who's name was essentially Michelle, couldn't even lead his team into the playoffs before Byslma saved them.

Wow. That's pretty brave of you considering your team has Cindy no- balls Crosby as their captain.
