Too tired tonight to go in-depth. But the Wing's have some good options here.

I'd love to see something like this next season with one of these

Chris Neil 30 OTT $1,200,000, Ian Laperriere COL $1,150,000, or Mike Grier 34 SJ $1,775,000

to add on a line with Helm would make a nice fore checking line.

I say don't bring back sammy and hossa, save the money on them. Then I say bring in 2 of the following players.

Richard Zednik 33 yrs old $1.625 million

Marian Gaborik 28 yrs old $6.333 million(sign for alot cheaper and hope he don't gethurt)

Alex tanguay 29 yrs old $5.200 million(sign alot cheaper)

Ruslan Fedotekno 30 yrs old $3.500 million

Mike Cammalleri 27 yrs old $3.350 million(sign cheaper and is young and fast)

I like these forwards, they are UFA's, they are young which we need to go towards a little for speed to get into opponents zone.

Now on defense I say trade Stuart away due to he is making $3.375 million pull up Ericcison and keep lilja. Ericisson comes in at $900,000 thousand then sign 1 of these defesemen

Jordan Leopold 28 yrs old $1.500 million

Greg Zanon 29 yrs old $725,000 thousand

Greg De Vries 36 yrs old $2.500 million

By trading stuart away and sign 1 of these "D" men we would save 1-2 million a year at that position and use it towards maybe a younger, faster forwards.

What do you think about Manny Legace being our back-up, I bet he would sign for about $1 million and play real good again for us, plus him and Ozzie would like to be back together

Maxim Afinogenov 29 BUF $3,500,000

^ he had a bad season this year wouldnt mind seeing him in a red n white jersey, and i could see him taking a pay-cut to play on the wings due to his lack of play this season.

Yeah, I wouldn't either. I just don't see Holland pulling the trigger on a deal with Manny. Bedard could work with him and probably get him straitened out.

There is a way to get Jay B...

Trade Rafalski (he really sucked) back to New Jersey (even with his NTC he MIGHT be willing to allow this trade to happen). There is a NEED for Jay - Lidstrom is going to retire at one point... who CAN replace him right now? I'm not saying that Jay is going to replace Lidstrom but it's going to be easier with him.

Qualify offer to Hudler and let's hope that someone will sign him as RFA (we are going to receive some draft picks) WIN-WIN situation.

Let Sammy go - and try to replace him with energy checker (like Drake) = Grier or Bell.

Offer 1.5M to Afinogenov for 1 year.

TRY TO MOVE UP IN THIS YEAR DRAFT AND GO AFTER KASSIAN.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Homer

Franzen - Flip - Afinogenov

Grier - Helm - Leino

Abdelkader - Draper - Kassian (Maltby)

Lids - Jay B

Stuart - Kronwall

Ericsson - Lilja

Osgoog

Howard (or cheap UFA)

Bouwmeester has been exposed as a mediocre defenseman. Rafalski was our second best defenseman all year. When the entire team has one mistake after another it's bad to focus on one player. Raffy is one of the best defensemen in the league and you want to replace him with Bouwmeester? Yikes.

Here's who I see leaving the Wings:

Defense: Lebda, Chelios, Meech. Lilja won't leave but will not play all season so he "counts" as a lost roster spot.

Goal: Conklin

Offense: Sammy, Kopecky, Hudler/Hossa (one or the other)

We'll bring up:

Defense: Ericcson

Goal: Howard (unfortunately he's our only option)

Offense: Helm (Yes!), Leino

Our extra depth from the AHL: Abdelkader, Kindl

I'm not sure what Maltby and Draper do. They can't play in the AHL because their contracts are't up, I think, and I don't see them retiring. And I don't see them being traded. But I really don't see them playing much next season, either.

The team will seek out a really gritty, hard hitting forward who wins the small battles down by the boards.

The team will seek out a "win it for _____" type player, a veteran with a good work ethic.

Dominator, that lineup looks pretty lackluster to me. There's no way we lose Hudler AND Hossa, and that team looks like a HUGE drop in quality from this season.

Good thing the Wings don't have lots of salary to play with. I wouldn't want to see ANY of those top salary-hogging UFA forwards on this team.

bouwmeester does not have the two way players here in fl like we do

That's a good point. Maybe I'm just annoyed with people wanting to throw our good players to the wolves to bring in some random player who hasn't really, truly proved himself. Perhaps I was too harsh on Jay B, I just haven't seen him truly show himself to be great, but it may be because he's on a s***ty team.

EDIT: And holy crap, Sakic is making 6 million a year?

Aaron Downey DET $500,000

Scott Parker 31 COL $500,000

Josh Gratton PHI $550,000

A few of those would be a great addition for the 3rd/4th lines and would keep us fight fans happy :D

Steve Montador 29 ANA $800,000

Matt Walker 29 CHI $600,000

Alex Henry MON $500,000

If we want a cheap tough dman...Id take Matt Walker over Brett Lebda any day.

What do you think about Manny Legace being our back-up, I bet he would sign for about $1 million and play real good again for us, plus him and Ozzie would like to be back together

Fedotenko is going to go where he gets offered the most. He's already won 2 cups with 2 teams, but that's just what I think. I'd love to have him here.

No trading Stuart..he has a NTC that I don't think he's going to waive.

No thanks to Legace. Never really liked him for some reason.

As far as I'm concerned, Manny Legace is a persona non grata. To this day I still hold him personally responsible for ruining Yzermans shot to go out on top.
