Kipper has had one good playoffs. He hasn't had a good regular season in like three or four years.

Osgood has consistently been clutch in the playoffs throughout his career.

I will take Ozzie, you can have Kipper. Enjoy.

Kipprusoff sucks. I hear so much about him every year, and he just continues to s*** the bed, year in and year out. That's a stupid trade for Detroit, your losing talent level, picks, and gaining a drunk ***** show of a contract. No thanksss.

Serious questions; Does Calgary have an up and coming goalie in their system that will be ready in a year or two, or ready now to split time with Ozzie?

It doesn't look like they need to clear cap space to obtain Meester Boumeester. Do they have raises they need to attend to next year?

I could see them wanting Holmer, actually, though. And loosing Lids soon and no real plan for a goalie in the near future. Holmer is replaceable. Maybe not a totally illigitimate rumour. Personal views aside, without Hossa, could Detroit pull it off?

Calgary's CURRENT goalie situation:

Kipper, McElhinney (who imo will be a career bench-rider), Leland Irving and Matt Keetley in the AHL (who have been putting up some mad games in the face of s***ty D and scoring in the A-Flames) This is the shakedown to me:

Kipper is the starter

Irving is the GotF (goalie of the future)

Keetley will either be Irving's tandem or trade bait.

McElhinney is on borrowed time.

Stats for the last two seasons, regular season and playoffs combined. Regular season OTLs are combined in as losses.

Regular season

Goalie A: 131 GP, 82W-42L, 11SO, .908sv%, 2.34GAA

Goalie B: 165 GP, 88W-73L, 7SO, .904sv%, 2.80GAA

Now tell me...which goalie has better stats? Goalie A, right? Fewer games, same amount of wins basically, more shutouts, lower GAA, higher save percentage. Much better winning percentage. He's at least as good as Goalie B, if not better, right?

Is Kip really way better than Osgood? Or is that just hype from Kipper being good a few years ago. Ask yourself that question.

Because Goalie A is Chris Osgood, and Goalie B is Miikka Kiprusoff.

Stats dont always tell the whole story. It's a team thing.. Kipper makes unbelievable saves and is an amazing goalie between the pipes! Plays for a descent team at best. Kipper in a wing wheel would be a sweet thing to watch! But i would keep Ozzie as well just for the fact he knows the pressure here and he overachieved the past couple playoffs. Yes he was great in the finals but i can't help but want to pull my hair out when i saw him hugging the post and FREAKING TALBOT scores a lame goal! !@#$@#$%#$%!!!

lol but in all honestly we should have not even been that far so Ozzie went beyond expectations. Also he's a lot cheaper and we dont need amazing goaltending to get a cup.

If you're saying "Watch them play, it's easy to see who's better" I sure as hell hope you aren't claiming Kipper is better. Because Kipper has looked like s*** the past couple of seasons and while Osgood was not great this past regular season and did have some rough patches, he is a notably better goaltender than Kipper, especially when it matters the most.

Send Ozzie packing for 3 bums off the street in Detroit. I would prefer one of the bums to be the guy out side of Comerica with no teeth and the huge hand jinging his change in his cup while chanting "EAT EM UP TIGERS EAT EM UP"
