Green Wing 26 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 Yeah I got that same tweet. Interesting. Hell, it's not Williams which is a plus for me. Of course it's still to be confirmed... so we shall see soon enough whether it's BS or not.

Guest ZetterbergFourty Report post Posted August 4, 2009 The Toronto Sun once ran a picture on the front page of the sports pullout. It was a picture of Darcy Tucker (As a Leaf) laying the beats to Eaves (As a Senator). This is all I know of this guy. Assuming this is Patrick Eaves. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted August 4, 2009 I would hope this is not true. Eaves has been a bust since he came to the NHL. I'm getting pretty tired of twitter sources, though.

Yeah he hasnt been much since Tucker beat him up, but it could be a decent move.

russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 Since he was a buyout who was set to make 1.4 mil this season and 1.7 mil next season he will get money from Boston already, meaning he will be cheaper then he should be. My guess is one year at 1.2 million. Leaving enough to sign one more guy.

My guess is one year at 1.2 million. Leaving enough to sign one more guy. I'll reserve judgement until I see how he is utilized. Cleary was a bust before Detroit Sammy was a journeyman before Detroit etc.... Eaves can skate and has good hands. He has never gotten much ice time though. Clearly in Detroit he will be surrounded by more top to bottom talent than anywhere he's played before. He fits in with regards to playing style as he's a complete ******* ***** too. If he plays on the top 2 lines, pencil him in for 16 goals. And I'll take everyone of 'em. YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST!
DatsyukownzU13 1 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 I would hope this is not true. Eaves has been a bust since he came to the NHL. I'm getting pretty tired of twitter sources, though. He's been injured on and off and he did hit 20 goals in 58 games his rookie season. The potential is there and depending on the $ involved, I like it. Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted August 4, 2009 Another Dan Cleary project. Lets hope it works out, though Id prefer to try and rebuild Mark Bell

Guest Shoreline Report post Posted August 4, 2009 wasn't dan cleary? Yup. And Malts. People are apparently confirming it's true watching TSN so if it's true then let's hope he's another Cleary! Go Eaves! http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=286737
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 He scored 20 goals one year with the Sens (in 58 games)... I could see him doing alright here in a new situation.... Good luck Eaves!
