Is it worth it? I've had NHL Center Ice the past few years. I've had issues of a few games being down over the years but overall, nothing too horrible to complain about. I don't have HD or anything on my TV, not really worried about that so much, can still see the games well and stuff.
I know there are usually complimentary online streams and stuff but I always worry about the risk of those being taken down and the like.

I used hockeystreams last year for the last half of the season. I bought it primarily for watching at work, but also because it can't get NBC. In my opinion, it is a poor substitute for a big screen in stunning High Definition, but it gets the job done. The streams were pretty reliable, although there were some techinical issues at times. I'll buy it again, but it is a secondary source for me.

The HD streams are of course far from real HD quality, but more than good enough for me atleast.
Archived games is a great feature too.

I had Center Ice Online 2 years ago, very unreliable, subpar quality both video and audio, blackouts, usually took a week or so to archive games, and very over priced ($170 I believe). For almost half the price you get a better service with HockeyStreams for a calendar year, that means playoffs, draft, free agent frenzy, etc. If its hockey related, they usually try to stream it. I definitely would suggest it, especially if you're away from home as much as I am.
And hell, if you're going to sign up, use my referral page to do so please
Either way, hope it works out for you.

I wouldn't wish hockeystream to my worse enemy. Why pay the money to an illegal feed trying to get rich when you can get it for free?

That might be a good option and I'm sure their quality is much better -- if they play NHL, not sure they updated their schedule yet?. hockeystream has horrible quality if you can get it to work properly. http://ohmyshit.com/...ipoff-be-warned

But these "free" sites that essentially do the same thing are okay because they are free?
Kinda some faulty logic there...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm gonna try to get working on this tonight.
I just hope that if I ultimately do not purchase NHL Center Ice through my cable provider, they still bill me (Charter Communications). That happened from 2 seasons ago to the last season through I different cable provider where I used to live (Cox Communications).
I don't have any TV/Computer hookups or fancy shamncy stuff, but as long as I can just see the game in color in halfway decent quality, I'm good. My laptop is pretty good looking for running media and I'm on the go a good bit, so it'd be pretty cool if I decide to go out to watch games here/there with places with Internet hotspots, if I do go this route.
I just wish I could afford an iPhone for this stuff.

It's not okay. When did I say it's okay? But according to you it's faulty logic that webmasters (and LGW posters) should try to earn as much cash from people around the world from something that is stolen? That's really your "logic"? And you wish to call my logic "faulty"!? Lol.
I don't condone piracy, nor will I ever create a website that supports piracy.... And I certainly won't ever sell or try to profit from stolen property. Just my "faulty logic", I guess.
In your theory, it's okay for people to download a movie (or burn a million copies of it) to sell it to the public for profits? Guess mama didn't teach you right from wrong. But hey, if you wanna make money from stolen property, go for it. This is America, land of opportunity.... right?

Look at your first post.
How does my mom have anything to do with this?
Yep, we're in America.

How are LGW posters earning cash? Its fine that you hate HockeyStreams for whatever reasons, but your posts earlier about the supposedly horrendous quality and poor usability are baseless. Is it as legitimate a business as GameCenter? No. But its a service and we have the right to pay for it if we like.
Also, its quality and reliability are light years above SopCast. What someone does with their dollars is their business. And I definitely suggest HS over GameCenter and SopCast for quality and reliability.

Watching a game through a free illegal stream is profitting from it genius.

Well dayum, guess I should burn all my CDs and DVDs and sell them on eBay then. Oh wait, here is a better idea... lets forge Lidstrom's, Zetterberg's, Yzerman's and Howes signature on hockey gear and pawn if off on eBay. Seems to be the "right thing to do" according some of you posters. Profiting off stolen stuff is okay.
