I really really really really hope it works out this time, I even had a dream about him playing hockey like the awesome player he is...

I wonder if he is done with Colorado though and might try a new team...perhaps wings, trade a few players and he take a huge discount?

*mod update* Forsberg is now planning on finishing the year in Sweden, and has confirmed he will not play in the NHL this year.

And he's back!

I guess I do too, somewhere deep inside my head, but you gotta admit these attempts - or at least the reporting - is getting tedious.

Wings? Just no... He's old, injury-prone and will likely want a bit more money that is wise... Rangers anyone?

If he can do it, more power to him, I'm not holding my breath or expecting it to happen though.

As for possibly playing with the Wings, Forseberg stated he wouldn't play for them due to being on the opposite side in Colorado when the rivalry was more heated. Whether he's had a change of heart about that, who knows...

So I lived in Colorado during the really heated portion of the rivalry, hell I was at the very first Snowball game played, which was agains the Red Wings, Made my day, hockey came to Colorado again and I get to see the Wings at the first game, hot dog. But then it started, and I am sorry but all the irrational behavior from them regarding Forsberg was just so outlandish and ill thought that I just can't stand him. Was he good? Yes, but according to the Snowball fans, he was God's gift to mankind and the Hockey World, they couldn't recognize any other player in the league that might have also been good.

So as far as I am concerned with this, bleh, I'm indifferent and could careless if he plays again or doesn't. Makes no difference to me. He doesn't seem to have that edge anymore that will make him a pivotal point on a team, a good addition yes if he can stay healthy but isn't gonna make or break anything IMO.

And God Forbid if he comes to the wings, a little part of me would die due to my built up dislike for the guy. This would be the only case in which I do care.

Would be a perfect fit though, imagine him with Zetterberg... hockeyporn!

For you perhaps. Foppa is a glassman, and has been forever. He also prefers the Avs over most any other team, and the opposite could be said about the Red Wings, who he battled for years. Forsberg's destination preference asside, the Wings would NEVER sign him, he is severely damaged goods, wouldn't play half the games, and the Wings have a glut of young talent waiting for a shot.

Zetterberg and Forsberg on a line, meh. You're thinking '95 Foppa and Zetterberg.

He won't ever come to the Wings, he already publicly stated that he would feel as if he was betraying the historic rivalry. He said this last summer or the year before, I can't recall which.

I think it's time for him to hang them up. Sure, he has skill, but he's not durable enought o play anymore. He's asking a team to take a chance on him and he will, 100% become injured for much of his stay and leave the team out to dry.

I can't understand the Foppa Bloggen, but 2 things are certain in this world: 1) Foreskin will never play for the Wings 2) Certain dickhead posters will never be censured for their antics in the "ban fighting" excuse of a thread.

This story has really lost its luster. ^ Brett Favre is a great comparison.

Him with Zetterberg? Imagine him with Dats!

That would be the better fit for Foppa. A pure set-up man with a pure sniper alongside, not to mention the added bonus that teams don't have the luxury of doubling down on Foppa based on the fact that Dats can put the puck in the net as well as almost anyone.

This is what he answered when asked about a possible nhl return:

-We'll see how it goes in these games first but i'm not closing any doors

-At the same time I have no big expectations on myself. I have no idea how it's going to go, eventho it feels better than my comeback attempt last year.

Forsberg will have a try with the team of MODO. He will have a week to prove himself and maybe interest an NHL team.

According to the daily swedish newspaper AFTONBLADET, he's in great shape, his foot is going a lot better and he really desires to comback in the NHL.

If he comes back, who will give him a contract?

Unless you're related to him, how can you actually like this diving, cheapshot punk? His comeback attempts have become pathetic at this point.

I just hope he doesn't try to join another NHL team mid-season, depending on how good their record is.

I don't think his comeback attempts are pathetic, he loves the game and wants to play. His career was shortened by injuries but he won't give up because he still feels he has gas left in the tank. Can't blame him for that. Blame media who goes crazy everytime he puts on a pair of skates. He's just there to play hockey and all of a sudden there are 1000 articles about him and people start threads like this all over the internet. If something has to be pathetic its the latter.

If you can't see why people like him watch this:

+ he is a national hero in sweden for his contributions in international tournaments so it's not strange for a swede to love him. Even if he is a red wing fan.
