11iscoming 1 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 it seems he couldn´t crack the lineup of hv 71 elitserien team, so he was sent to the J20 (junior) team and had his first game of the season today. in a 8-4 win of his team he had 2 goals and 4 assits for 6 points. a good start into the season, should boost his confidence. if he keeps playing such monster games in junior, maybe he will be promoted back to the mens team very soon. 11iscoming 1 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 second game for adam today and the count is rising: 3-0 win for his team, he had 2 helpers. so he keeps scoring even in a low scoring game. AA´s season count: 2gp - 2g - 6a - 8pts
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Sure is a nice start to the season. Don't know much about the guy but if he gets bigger and stronger he sounds like a reasonable chance to make it.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Sure is a nice start to the season. Don't know much about the guy but if he gets bigger and stronger he sounds like a reasonable chance to make it. He's apparently 5'10 and 169. If he gets a little bigger and stronger and some seasoning with the NA game then he's a WAY more preferable option than Lebda and Meech right now, especially with his proclaimed hockey sense and smarts. At this point it looks like his max upside is a borderline top-four defenseman, but to theoretically have a guy like that on your third pair has got to be really good. 11iscoming 1 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 anyway.......at least he keeps proving his hockey sense with points....next chapter: a 7-4 win today and he had 1 goal and 1 assist AA´s season count: 3gp - 3g - 7a - 10pts so the offensive game is definately there, we will see if he can match it with defensive and physical play in the future. Jim Morrison 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2009 1 Adam Almqvist 5games 5goals 12assists 17points = Defenseman 2 Johan Linnander 8games 10goals 5assists 15points = Forward Just move Almqvist up already, he's too good for juniors 17 points in 5 games as a defenseman and Linnander as a forward in 3 games more still at only 15 points. 11iscoming 1 Report post Posted October 5, 2009 ....just as JIM MORRISON said, he is the pointsleader now in the J20 league over the forwards who even have more games than him.... a quick wrapup of the weekend for Adam: a 4-2 win with 3 assists and a 6-1 win with 2 goasl and 2 assists that leads to the season count as above stated by JM. he is really tearing apart the juniors. i´m not sure what would be the best for his development. keep him there and let him set new records and gaining tons of confidence or bringing him up to play with real men but only a few minutes per game???? i guess the responsible persons on the wings will know what to do. 11iscoming 1 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 i don´t know what this guy is eating or if they play him the entire 60 minutes, he just keeps scoring.... 3-1 win today and he had again 3 assists AA´s season count: 6gp - 5g - 15a - 20pts btw before the last game his team had a powerplay-pct of 45,71%. i wonder if he has anything to do with it
11iscoming 1 Report post Posted October 10, 2009 although clearly outshot by 2nd placed frölunda, hv 71 managed to win another game and stay unbeaten. the final result is 5-3. adam had 2 assists today. because one of the helpers was shorthanded there is now evidence that he also plays on the penalty kill. AA´s season count: 7gp - 5g - 17a - 22pts to all swedes on this board: has anyone of you the possibility to watch him in person and give us "foreigners" a first hand "scouting report" of his skills and tell us if he is really that outstanding or if the opponents are so weak in this league? 11iscoming 1 Report post Posted October 17, 2009 another win for hv 71....but only after a penalty shootout. it seems things didn´t go perfect this time. additionally adam was held pointless for the first time this season. Man, what does this kid have to do to get called up to the SEL? I know he's undersized, but how much more he can learn in J20 when he's dominating like this? dropkickshanahans 463 Report post Posted October 31, 2009 Man, what does this kid have to do to get called up to the SEL? I know he's undersized, but how much more he can learn in J20 when he's dominating like this? Well I'm guessing it has more to do with getting more playing time in J20 than he would at the Elitserien level. I think that's best for his development right now, plus he's still growing from what the other poster said. Next season he'll definitely get his chance. This kid's gonna be awesome for us in the future imo. I have a question though for anyone that would know. Hakan says that since he has great hockey sense, which obviously it's showing so far, that if the draft were based on hockey sense he'd be a first round pick. With that said, what is he so bad at that warrants him one of the last picks in the draft? I know he's small but all kids are undersized and will take a little time to develop. All the weaknesses on redwingscentral.com basically say that they are fixable as he grows in size and gets stronger. Did teams just overlook him because of his size and we came away with a high valued pick?

Well I am guessing he was overlooked because I don't think he did much or anything on the national stage so its not like everyone knew of his talent and because he was small and weak. I do believe he was listed at like 136 .lbs before the draft too.

This kid's gonna be awesome for us in the future imo......... exactly! and besides this, the hv 71 sel team is also in first place so i guess they see no need to change anything. on wednesday he had another assist in another win. today he wasn´t in the lineup. i don´t know why. maybe he is injured or he may be already with the j20 national team, which participates in a 4 nation tournament in st.petersburg next week. anyway leagueplay makes a break until 14th november.
