The Wings keep Tatar in Grand Rapids instead of sending him to the OHL. Yet 2 games in and he hasn't been on the roster yet, not sure if this is what Kenny and Co wanted from the

farm team or is Thomas injured, anyone have any info on the situation.

You don't think that Babs is gunna want him kicking his heels in the pressbox at Van Andel

for much longer, this kid needs to be playing regular games. Unless there gunna fastrack him to the Joe!!

Google News is your friend:

Notes: After the Wings returned from Sweden, they sent Daniel Larsson to Grand Rapids and Jordan Pearce to Toledo in the ECHL ... Toledo starts their season next weekend ... Justin Abdelkader was sent to the AHL after Detroit signed Brad May ... Tomas Tatar and Sebastien Piche were the two Detroit prospects scratched for Grand Rapids season opener ... Both will be in this weekend ... Tatar being a scratch doesn't count toward the 9 games he can play before he burns a year off his contract ... He will need to get onto a scoring line to avoid being sent to the OHL, where he would play for Plymouth.

Fraser also said he hopes to have rookies Tomas Tatar and Sebastien Piche make their pro debuts against Toronto.

So I guess they are scratching him just so that he can get used to the system, the new teammates, smaller ice etc before they start his 9 games....to give him a fair shot of staying in the AHL this year.

hmm.. That's pretty classy!
