zetterbergfan 23 Report post Posted October 16, 2009 If you look at the NHL.com stats from tonight's 5-2 win over L.A. They list Rafalski's empty-netter as "unassisted". Clearly he received a pass from Zetterberg and Ericsson dug it out of the corner. Does the NHL review these the next day, or does someone have to bring this to their attention? thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted October 16, 2009 It will get reviewed. Not that it will get corrected, but it will get reviewed. 9 times out of 10, they do get it right, though.

thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted October 16, 2009 How could they screw that up though? A bad decision? Someone with a finger that mattered thought an LA player bounced the puck out... or doesn't understand NHL scoring rules. Either way, it will most likely be fixed. It's not like Nicky's 1000 point is being called back.

waitahochiminute 2 Report post Posted October 16, 2009 There will always be gliches in stats usually caused by human error. The people who do all the info for box scores use a simple program that gets them to put in the jersey number of the player who got the assist or whatever. It is very easy to accidently put in the worng number, and end up with a player not even on the game roster credited with a point. This usually ends up being fixed when the box scores are officially submitted.

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted October 16, 2009 So Z won't get credit for that assist? Man, that's lame.. I mean, yeah yeah the win is the only thing that matters and so on, but it would be good for Hank to get a few points so he doesn't feel so much pressure to produce. Guest mindfly Report post Posted October 16, 2009 Add assists for Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg, Jonathan Ericsson By Ansar Khan October 16, 2009, 2:07PM DETROIT -- The NHL has officially added assists for Henrik Zetterberg and Jonathan Ericsson on Brian Rafalski's empty-net goal with seven seconds remaining in the Red Wings 5-2 win over the Kings Thursday. The Wings said a computer glitch caused the mistake, but the league took care of it. Zetterberg and Ericsson each had a goal and an assist in the game.
